Thanks for the words to "OL MAN RIVER" Steve, kind of lighten things up here on this thread..........
I'm kind of like you Steve, haven't been able to play SH4 until I upgrade the ol computer, and playing SH3 is erractic with CTD's. So I just cruise the forums for now to see what people are saying. Seems like most problems revolve around having the right computer to handle the load. And some of the other problems are figured out by some a lot easier than others.....and if there is a specific glitch, most true subsimmers are patiently waitng for the patches and mods.
Just seems like today everyone is in a hurry, and wants everything perfect now. They obviously were not here when their was no sub games, and the best we had was a book written by those "Old Salts" who had been there and done that. As you read those lines so eagerly, you pictured in you mind what it was like. And when you grew up, you joined the Submarine Service, and you got a first hand experience of what sub life is all about. So when you have done those things which are real and not a game, you have more patience in something that is supposed to be fun.
Because in real life there are terrifying moments, and dull moments and no replay....just history and memories......and you know what? I'll take the real life over the game........

No Clayton, you don't have to hide because you dislike GWX, but you made a comment that was completely inappropiate, unnecesary and could upset many people. There is nothing wrong in doing founded critics to GWX or any other mod, but there is a feedback topic for it and you can also open threads to discuss realism features in general.

If you re-read the initial post of this thread you will see it had nothing to do with GWX itself. So please stick to what was asked or open another thread for serious and mature discussions of other matters.

Thanks

Any mention of SH3 by fans or not almost always brings up GWX! And any mention of any problems with GWX almost always brings out the worst with some.
You are correct, the initial thread does not mention GWX or a moddable SH3 /SH4 version and when it is mentioned in the future, I'll tell of the specific problems I'm having as opposed to how unbelievably unrealistic it is.

tell me clayton if a member would comment SH4.

like this : ''The game is full with bugs, unrealistic and completly unhistorical''
what response will the member get?

if you dont get into details, you wont get any detailed feedback.

also the fact that the response about GWX's realism is different.
some people like it, some people dont.

we cant force people to like it, its their own taste.
but continuesly repeating that it is unrealistic and unhistorical is unnecesary.
you do not have to repeat yourself clayton over and over again.
we know you dont like it, fine. enjoy SH4.

just my 2 cents

That's a bit better but obviously not enough yet. Keep trying (elsewhere) until you get the hang of being more educated. Practice is what matters most for it, so don't spare you any efforts until the objective is accomplished.

Nice post Growler Took the above out of it. Said this somewhere here at subsim before, I am playing both, SH4 more for the time being, but GWX is not going anywhere, its a great mod ( so are WAC and NYGM ). I like the opportunity of having both theatres to sim in.

What has always been appealing to me is the fact that both SH4 and GWX are very easily customized, both through game settings and mods So they should be appealing to what ever type of gamer you want to be.

In the end, if you don't like one or the other, don't play it, but before getting all bent out of shape, do a thread search and post your opionions in the appropriate forums versus just rehashing what has been already said here.

Good Hunting

Apples or peaches. Choose which one gives you the best taste or if you like both, alternate them. As simple as that.

Well, your voice may be better than mine, but at least I know all the words. You're just humming along most of the time.:rotfl:

I like both games, Get SHIV then when you need a change of pace load up SH3 GWX & vice versa.

But GWX does really prolong sh3 theres many more things you can do, go to Penang or command a IID in Constanza (just started up one, new career number 5 ) Or maybe Trondheim, or Toulon. I could start talking about the uber paraniod escorts that are bent on sending you to the bottom but i dont want to scare anyone away from the game, you need nerves of steel.

GWX is James bond at sea!

Very true! I got so used to NYGM that using also GWX was a hard step for me, but the 30th flotilla careers did it and I enjoy themvery much.

P.S. Hey Kiwi is that U-534 in your signature?

Man, a difference in opinion can get you made fun of here...

I suppose I need to tread lightly when mentioning GWX in the future.

No its not that. Its just that bashing something over and over because you don't like it doesn't help anyone. If you don't like GWX, fine but you don't have to keep saying it over and over. WE GET IT MAN!!!!
