Default Who has problems with GWX?

I do:

1) The developers has altered the size of the Command Room, Nav Map, etc. because it is too big for a 1028x768 screen. The bottom half of the above is cut off, so the time cannot be read and the faces of the Officers on the bottom left are cut in half. I suggest to you that there was NOTHING wrong with the size of the various screens with either GW1.1a or SH3 original. So why change it? So therefore, you have not developed it to suit everyone's video card.

2) The night scenes are TOO dark. The idea that the dev team did in GW1.1a and now GWX is that you made the night scenes too dark. Your excuse is that you wanted it realistic and were not able to make the night dark suitable for everyone's monitor. Well I suggest that you should not have made it sooooo dark. After all, it is only a game and messing around with the developement of the original from UBISOFT because you wanted RL situations. Well, if you can't make it so that it is compatable with everyone's video card, then you didn't do your job properly when developing a program that is not compatable with the various video cards, use and never mind the REAL LIFE situations.

Rob

EDIT: And I'm not going to go out and purchase a new moitor or video card just to fit your games (GW1.1a and now GWX). I had to purchase various parts to make my computer suitable for the original SH3 by Ubisoft. Not everyone has the financial resourses to do such things.

Sounds to me like you have a card issue!!!!! Did you attempt to resize your screen with those funny little buttons they put on them? Give that a try.

What kind of card to you have? God helps those that help themselves. Let see if we can help you on this!

Thanks AVGWarhawk for you resonable response to my post. My screen is a "Slim TFT LCD Monitor" and my card is a GeForce 6600.

The response by the person below your post just gives a simple "If you don't like it, go back and play the stock game" is not a suitable answer.

It looks like there will be no further notices of responses to this question because the Head People have decided to disallow it.

Sorry that I did something that was improper??? But I needed answers and if I get put in the Brig, or banished, then I'm sorry that they see it necessary to take such action.

You're beeing totally unfair in your statements, your first post about we modding the size of the Command Room, Nav Map, etc. is totally incorrect, if you take the time to look at the posts about GWX problems, you'll realize that you're the only one with such a problem, thus making more likelly that it's a problem on your system or with your install, as for the second problem, the night beeing too dark, it's a STOCK problem with sh3 with some monitor/graphic board combinations, and if you're going to blame somebody then try searching on the video settings for a brightness/gamma adjustment which is normal on most games, and you'll know who to blame.

I have a Nvidia 6200 oc 256mb. Night time is perfect for me. Attempt to adjust digital brilliance/contrast/brightness on the card. Also attempt this with the monitor itself.

Resize your screen display. I had to do that with my card. Once done, it will stay that way when the game is started.

Sounds to me like some minor adjustments will take care of it

Its a mod, did you pay for it? -because you are behaving as if you want some 'customer service'.
You can ask for advice, but dont start telling people their answers are not suitable or acceptable, Ill tell you now its not 'suitable' for you to complain in such a pompouse manner. You will be given help if you ask nicley, if you just want to rant and rave you will be ignored.

Bigboywooly is spot on, if you dont like it, you can lump it.

@ Robj250

Can you show us any screenshots of what you mean?

That way it'll be a little easier to see what you see.

Why would anybody who could use the phrase "messing around with the development of the original from UBISOFT" actually install a mod?

I didnt mean if you dont like it lump it
( Thanx Ju :rotfl: )

What i meant was its a free mod Rob
You can choose to use it or choose not to
The dark nights dont affect everybody

No one is expecting you to upgrade your system if you dont want to for the sake of a mod

When I first installed GW on my system it ran like a pig and I unistalled it
Simple
After a video upgrade I tried again and it was ok
My system is below Ubi's specs for stock SH3 and plays GWX fine
A little stutter in port but eh some things you put up with

If it bothered me so much I would unistall
Well I wouldnt I would upgrade my comp :rotfl:

You cant expect anyone from GWX to jump through a hoop to fix your problem when you start with a statement like you did

Now it sounds like statement one is of your making nothing to do with GWX
The dark sky is another matter and may be due to your monitor\graphics card or just the way you have it set up

And its a bit unfair to say "no further notices of responses to this question because the Head People have decided to disallow it"

My post count has jumped around 150 since GWX was released helping ppl with similar problems
To such an extent I havent even played the damn thing yet

No idea what you are on about in Q1 mine is ok and is no different to GW1.1

True some ppl do find the nights too dark
Others think it is just right

You cant please all of the ppl all of the time Rob

No one is forcing you to use GW or GWX Rob
Try NYGM
Try UWAC
Or go back to stock

Not every mod is for everybody

1..Command Room,Nav Map etc on my system look just fine.Nothing wrong with them.

2..Night time is just right on my Samsung LCD monitor.Like was said your monitor has little buttons on it that change brightness.Or use your video cards options to adjust the brightness to what you want. This is not a GWX problem...you can fix the issue yourself in 2 minutes or less with what is right in front of you built into your monitor and video card.

I am using a 6800 video card and a Samsung 930B LCD.

You say your using a LCD monitor..what is its native resolution?
That could also have something to do with the problem.I had to change my resolution in SH3 to fit my monitors native res of 1280x1024.

Well, I'll have to look around for the type of monitor you have.

I know some thing can make us really mad, but remember that we are in the Subsim forums. We are too mature for this, mateys. Lets get back to topic, please..

mr chris & subwolf: Ease up, both of you. This is getting out of hand. Remember: people look into this thread to find help to GWX.
