Go to SilentHunterIII\data\Menu\cfg
edit Maps.cfg
to get the bearing overlay for nav map, change:
[Map0]
MapID=Navigation_map
bla bla
SymbolZoom=1;units are drawn as symbols from this zoom up

to

[Map0]
MapID=Navigation_map
bla bla
SymbolZoom=10;units are drawn as symbols from this zoom up

to get the bearing overlay for attack map, change:
[Map1]
MapID=Attack_map
bla bla
SymbolZoom=1;units are drawn as symbols from this zoom up

to
[Map1]
MapID=Attack_map
bla bla
SymbolZoom=20;units are drawn as symbols from this zoom up

Loaded OLC GUI on 1.03 last night.
Very very COOL
Still getting used to where jazz is but that shouldn't take long.
I have two questions. I was thinking about installing Open Hatch again, any compatability issues? Also I do like the new view for the Observation scope. Any way to add the tube selector / fire button? I would like to use this scope on lone merchants from time to time, where it's n/p to use F6 for settings first.

Okay, tried out the 1.1.5 dark version. At first I felt like I had gone blind, but after 2 minutes I was used to it. It takes a fraction longer to read the numbers in the bottom-left corner, yes, and reading the dials too, but overall I think I prefer it to the light version. It's a shame to lose the vivid colours of the background and the flag chart and so on, but I think it's better to have good night vision. The only problem is the nav map which is always too bright (and it was even with the red mask in stock, but oh well ).

So perhaps the best thing is indeed a dark version with slightly lighter bits in places, such as the bottom-left corner. But I can take it as it is

I like the fine attention to details, such as darkening the colours of the highlighted icons (when you mouse over them) and so on. You really didn't miss anything, so excellent and thorough work as always, OLC

I've added back in the big slide-out compass from GWX 2.0, but as it's bright white it practically blinded me when I accidentally made it pop out during the night whilst looking through the scope with my face right next to the monitor Beware all! :rotfl:

Thanks for both the tips. That seems to work.

Haven'yt noticed it before. I'm a heavy user of that one, I am possibly unable to live without it. Any way to add that back too?

I'd love to bring in a deciding vote. But I haven't seen any of those screenshots you promised us.

I agree the brightness of the navmap is a problem. I'm also thinking that the red/yellow/green marking lines on the range/aob finder are too bright in 1.1.5... but they are especially difficult to get right! Set them right for one lighting condition and they're wrong for another.

Working on these things now. Will also post screenies (sorry about that).

Ok lets try this; I realise this Mod is a gem and designed for players who are into manual targeting. So even if you use auto getting used to where things are or are not isn't a chore. But just for my own use could someone point out if possible where I could edit for the Obs scope; I would like to gain ship recognition. That way I could F6 / O or just use the gui and go from there.

I only mean that the bright colours on the flag chart have gone - it's now rather dull so that it doesn't blind you. I think you understood my post to mean that the flag chart has gone completely? If so, don't worry - it's very much still there!

Yeah, have you actually tried that in this mod with the Obs scope?
All you get is whatever was last ID'ed in the attack or UZO. My question wasn't asking about keyboard shortcuts, I was refering to the mouse function in the attack scope/uzo. I find myself missing the targets speed displayed as well, so for now I think to uninstall this GUI.

OLC good luck in the development. Thought the colors everyone seems to be discussing were fine btw.
