Patrol narrative:

2 JUN 1943
Departed Pearl Harbor on schedule.

7 JUN 1943
Arrived Midway for refuel.

250829 JUN 1943
SJ contact posn 127'00E by 31'40N. Closed to visual range and confirmed enemy convoy of four vessels, with one escort
moving in two columns. Course estimated 30 degrees, speed 4.5 knots. Orders rec'd to attack convoy. Conducted immediate approach on
surface, and was in attack position within fifteen minutes of order to attack. Despite high winds and strong swell fired four torpedoes at
two nearest targets. One hit observed, but damage was minimal. One dud, two misses. Escaped ahead of convoy, with star shells observed
astern.

251016 JUN 1943
Began second attack, having closed to attack position submerged. Fired two torpedoes from tube 5 and 6 and immediately ordered emergency
depth upon seeing gyro malfunction on both torpedoes. Escort not in evidence.

251022 JUN 1943
Returned to periscope depth and fired spread from tubes 1 through 3 at nearest target. One hit observed, one dud heard over hydrophone.
Enemy merchant appeared to be losing speed rapidly, with slight list.

251030 JUN 1943
Fired one torpedo at stationary merchant from tube 4. Dud heard over hydrophone, and observed through periscope.

251050 JUN 1943
Swung to unmask stern tubes at periscope depth, fired from tubes 9 and 10. Both were observed to have gyro failures. Fearing another circular
run ordered emergency depth.

251056 JUN 1943
Returned to periscope depth. Enemy merchant now stationary and drifting. Fired from tubes 7 and 8. One hit observed, one dud heard.

251627 JUN 1943
Surfaced astern of immobilized merchant and ordered action stations deck gun. Sank enemy by 4 inch fire.

260113 JUN 1943
Convoy settled on course 51 degrees, speed 3.5 knots. Presumed SJ contact on escort astern of convoy making economical speed to regain
position. Began second attack, once again submerged due to risk of being silhouetted against setting sun. Fired tubes 5 and 6 and two hits
observed, with small splashes, but no explosions: both appeared to be duds. Fired full spread from Tubes 1 through 4 between 0115-0116,
with three premature detonations resulting. Merchants began irregular zig-zags.

260120 JUN 1943
Stern tubes unmasked. Fired from tubes 7 and 8, one dud and one hit resulting. Fired remaining ammunition from tubes 10 and 9 between 0121
- 0123, observing two further hits. One enemy afire and sinking rapidly. Another damaged and now adrift.

260148 JUN 1943
Approached wounded merchant on surface, attacking from astern. Sank by gunfire from all weaponry. Air search radar detected two aircraft,
on a homeward trajectory. Trusting in the ideal night attack conditions to conceal us, remained on surface to open distance from enemy escort.
Several minutes later observed four-engine flying boat directly overhead, and having seen our wake it appeared to be changing course to attack.
Crash dive ordered, and several explosions heard to stern. Thereafter: pinging. Enemy escort having been able to catch up in this time. Suffered
extremely heavy counterattack that resulted in damage to multiple subsystems, including one cracked battery cell. Minor wounds occurred amongst after torpedo crew and machinist division.

292200 JUN 1943
Performed Commando Insertion w/o incident, with agent transferred to friendly ship 25 nautical miles southwest of QINGDAO, China.

291941 JUN 1943 :
Whilst egressing from Yellow Sea encountered lone sailing cargo vessel that appeared lightly armed. Sank by 4 inch gunfire.

110329 JUL 1943:

Arrived at Midway for refuel. Departed 0729H.

14 JUL 1943:
Concluded patrol with arrival at Pearl Harbor.

Remarkably stable, particularly compared to my SH3 megamods. I've stress tested with some test saves in contact as well and most have worked. I've not yet had an "unforced" CTD.
