Hello everybody!!

while surfing in silence for a few weeks into this great forum think its time to surface and say Hello.

how how got into this, well first of all I'm (also ) a real fanatic of realism games specialy simulators. im involved in Rfactor sim racing developmen team for historic F1 racing cars, I don't have skills in modding but i orginize and doing research, having good people around me which do unbelievable things to crank up the realism.
Like people here which i have already great respect for:
TDW
Steelviking
Zedi )
Reaper7
Enviromental mod guys !!
and specialy Stoianm for his great vids of explanation
and all others i didn't mentioned but doing great things

the main reason how i got here was because of a video i saw on youtube
by J2JonJeremy and saw the new mods imported by subsim.com
next day I went to the store and bought the game , salesman says its not good ,**** it i dont care cause i saw what people can do with it

and here we are

Now i need some advice by you guys
my old system is about to die , Mb is screwed and my ati drivers wont load propely however I realy want to play Silent hunter 5 in full glory so I bought today a new lowbudget system; specs

Asus MB M4a779xtd Evo
AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black edition
Evga GTX 460 Black edition super clocked
600w OCZ power
Kingston Value ram 1333 8gb kit
500gb WD harddisk
OS windows 7 64 bit professional
All boxed into a Coolermaster Centurion 5 II tower
( think i will add an extra cooler for my cpu)

Now the question is i dont have a full hd screen atm ( Samsung 2032BW max 1680x1050) and the store only provides iiYama or Samsung
i prefer to go for iiYama but the size....
24" E2407HDS-B1 FullHD
27" E2710HDS-B1 FullHD

what should benefit the game best or what brand and type you guys advice for simracing and subhunting?

thanks in advance

I only use Samsung LCD monitors. I can honestly say I've never had a problem with them. I'm currently using the SyncMaster 305T (30.5" 2560 X 1600 native) and the SyncMaster 244T (24" 1920 X 1200 native). The graphics on the 305T are superb, the 244T good (dot pitch is bigger and not as much color contrast as 305T).
What I look for in an LCD monitor is the smallest dot pitch you can find with the highest contrast ratio (so blacks look black). Be weary of dynamic contrast ratios - they don't look as good. I also look for screen real estate (size and highest native resolution). You want to run the LCD at it's native resolution for best picture quality.

Hi,
I'm Stuart. I'm from Northern Ireland. I'm in Transport and Logistics and am an avid SH Fan ever since played SH II. Currently playing SH V.I live in a little town called Antrim on the edge of Lough Neagh and my fasination with submarines started there because on the Lough beside Antrim is a patform where the used to test fire torpedoes during the war.

Hi guys, I'm Dave 36, living in the sunny west midlands, so as far away from the sea as you can get in the uk. although this is saying it's my first post, I am actully COWBOY10 on this forum and been floating about for quite a while, although I lost my password on my last pc meltdown, and discovered I hadn't updated my profile to my new email address so couldnt reset password, so here I am starting again

I have been simmimg for as long as I remember, starting out on the old BBC model b in the mid 80s, although mainly a flight sim simmer. I have been following silent hunter from the beginning and have owned versions of the sim on a few different formats. While my fav is sh3 with grey wolves, I am just reloading shv and seeing what diffrence these new mega mods will make to it. I'm hoping they will give me the sim I would love to have.

Default SH 5 Roll Call

HI, I'm Dave (Blinky) fromThe Black Hills of South Dakota. I have been a subsim player since the 1st Silent Hunter release in 1996, by Strategic Simulations. I really miss Carl Norman and his crew. I have all versions of SH, thru SH 5. Lived in Chi and toured both USS Siversides (SS-236) and had the privilage of a solo tour through U-505. (had a friend at the museum) What a kick! Have been with Subsim Review and you, Neal, for years, but only in this forum since 2007. Best Wishes and keep up th great work!!
Dave
