The Rand Rebellion in South Africa comes to an end, as South African troops forcibly crush the rebelling miners. Around 150 to 200 people were killed during the course of the fighting.

USS Langley is recommissioned as the U.S. Navy’s first aircraft carrier after it completed conversion from a collier. Max von Hausen, German general who commanded the Third Army during the Battle of the Marne, has passed away.

The East Karelian Uprising ends in a Soviet Russian victory, as Karelian and Finnish rebels are defeated and Finland and Soviet Russia agree to maintain their borders. Rebel fighters in Karelia. Ship Losses: Kullaberg (Sweden) The cargo ship ran aground near Elleness, West Lothian, United Kingdom. She was later refloated and beached at Elie, Fife. Refloated again on 3 April.

British submarine H42 sinks with the loss of all 24 crew after it is accidentally rammed by the destroyer HMS Versatile off Gibraltar. Ship Losses: HMS H42 (Royal Navy) The H-class submarine was rammed off Gibraltar by HMS Versatile ( Royal Navy) and sank with the loss of all 22 crew. Sakaki Maru (Japan) The cargo ship collided with Eastern Sailor ( United States) in the Whangpo River, Shanghai, China and was beached. Salamanca (Norway) The cargo ship was abandoned in the Bay of Biscay. Her crew were rescued by Argonne ( France).

Six Catholic civilians are killed in Belfast, Northern Ireland by suspected members of the Ulster Special Constabulary, as sectarian violence grows in the region. The Republic of Central Lithuania, a Polish puppet state centered on Vilnius, is incorporated into Poland after a contested election. Polish troops celebrating the incorporation of Vilnius. Ship Losses Curvos (Portugal) The schooner was destroyed by fire at Falmouth, Cornwall, United Kingdom. Glenmore (United Kingdom) The cargo ship struck the wreck of Treveal ( United Kingdom) in the English Channel off St Alban's Head, Dorset and foundered. Her crew survived. Maggie Read (United Kingdom) The coaster was destroyed by fire off Ornsay, Inner Hebrides.

Two Koreans attempt to assassinate former Japanese Minister of War Tanaka Giichi (pictured) in Shanghai, but he escapes unharmed. In the crossfire, an American woman is killed and four others are wounded. which is a smart short term moderate physical activity goal

U.S. Senate votes to ratify the Washington Naval Treaty, which limits the size of the navies of the Great Powers, as well as a treaty limiting the use of submarines and poison gas in warfare. Ship Losses: Majestic (United Kingdom) The ocean liner ran aground at Pagensand, Schleswig-Holstein. She was refloated on 30 March.

Turkish First Army conduct military exercises at Ilgin. Turkey is reorganizing its army as the ongoing Greco-Turkish war remains at a stalemate. Members of the Ulster Special Constabulary/Royal Irish Constabulary murder six Catholic civilians, including a child, in Belfast, supposedly in retaliation for the killing of an RIC officer by the IRA. Funeral procession for the victims. Charles, the last Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary, has passed away at the age of 34 while in exile on the island of Madeira, Portugal.

Ship Losses: Suwa Maru (Japan) The cargo ship ran aground on the White Rock, off Swatow, China. She was abandoned as a total loss on 13 April. Her crew were rescued by a British steamship.
