I've just stumbled across some of my old navy pictures that I never put onto my computer.
USS Brinkley Bass (DD-887) and USCGC Ponchartrain (WHEC-70) being moved together to make way for a guided missile cruiser to tie up next to the tender. May 1970.

I think a better question was what wasn't my job? I came aboard an ordinary seaman and stood lookout, helmsman, and a few times as broadband sonar operator. After a while I decided I wanted to be a radioman and started working with our ESM equipment primarily and processing message traffic on occasion as well.

Two pictures of my subs:
First U15 and U17 in Wilhemshafen after leaving the navy Here U33 at HDW shipyard together with another type 212 sub OK. Than the differences between the US and German navy are not as big as i thought. Last edited by Paulebaer1979; 04-14-14 at 08:30 AM. |
