No not a switchery-do-hickey. I like that name.


It is does generate horsepower only a small portion of the entire machine is visible in this shot.

I'll go for a Wright R-3350 engine from the mighty Douglas A-1. Specific variant I don't know.

Another clue; this engine was only used in a few aircraft. One was an impovment on an existing desgin. The other magnesium alloy turn and burn.

How to provide a clue that wont easily give it away?

It was a production engine not a prototype. It was used by two diffrent bombers as well as two production and one prototype cargo plane.

That should help considerably.
