Corbyn seems to be getting the hang of this PMQs lark, he kicked Dave into the kerb today, asking him over five times if Tax Credit cuts would leave people worse off and getting no reply each time. He also provided a nice soundbite for the media "It's not a constitutional crisis, it's a crisis for three million families" and he seems to have evolved a nice little death glare he gives the rowdy ministers when interrupted:

Cameron will have to spell it all out eventually and my guess is it will be next month.

She cannot do a thing that is not UK Labour policy - the Electoral Commission states that it would be illegal for an accounting unit of a party to do so (and ScotLab is an accounting unit).

It's shocking really - a good opposition is vital, or at least an effective one is. Did you see the reaction Kezia got on QT this week.

I would point out, for the non-British amongst us, that booing would show that you at least care enough to object. Total silence is a death sentence, frankly: because if you are watching it makes you embarassed, which is a major crime and the silence means that you can't apologise to the other person.

Sorry.

News for today, Scottish Labour have voted by 70%-30% to make the non renewal of the Trident Nuclear Weapon system official party policy.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...itics-34687735

So we have a pro-nuclear weapon UK Labour Party led by an anti-nuclear weapon leader, whilst Scottish Labour is anti-nuclear weapon party led by a pro-nuclear weapon leader.

Guddle springs to mind.

TBH, Trident and it's renewal wouldn't be such a major issue if it wasn't based in Scotland. What it boils down to, ultimately, is that Glasgow doesn't want those weapons anywhere near it. You could say that what Glasgow wants, Glasgow eventually gets. Most of Scotland's welfare budget is spent in that city and it's surrounding council authorities, btw. England may or may not subsidise Scotland, but we all subsidise Glasgow!

As far as the UK's Trident nuclear deterrent is concerned, I view it as a necessary evil in an imperfect world. However, I wouldn't object to it being moved from the Clyde and Glasgow's vicinity. Primarily to get Glasgow to stop whinging about it and to see if the area is willing to take the economic hit from it's relocation for the sake of a philosophical position.

Mike.
