...both have a two blade prop and one engine; the puzzle's plane has less horsepower than yours and a crew of two, not one. Only one of the OP, specific purpose, was ever built compared to the Alpha's 17. The puzzle plane is shorter lengthwise and wingspanwise...and unique in appearance. Big hint: Richard Ira Bong would have had no trouble flying this plane! It is not currently on display in a museum.

yup...and (upon further review) it had fabric wings and non-retractable tripod landing gear. It was intended for military use; but eschewed by Army in favor of other aircraft.
