The G7 group of nations - including the UK and US - call for "humanitarian pauses" in the fighting in Gaza.

Such pauses would allow more aid into Gaza, and would allow more civilians to leave.

Pauses are not the same as a ceasefire - which Israel has ruled out while Hamas holds Israeli hostages in Gaza.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also insists there should be no Israeli reoccupation of Gaza after the war.

Hamas-run authorities say homes were bombed in Gaza City overnight, with deaths reported.
