The installer doesn't care how the installation becomes "clean and unmodified". If rolling back SH3Cmdr or disabling mods via JSGME achieves this, then as long as the installation folder passes the installer verification, it doesn't matter.

If verification fails, then the installer has done its job by alerting you *before* you tried to sail to sea. I know I'd rather get an error message when installing GWX than after waiting 5+ minutes for a patrol to load only to then be greeted by my desktop because of some random CTD...

Now having said this, we strongly recommend that players install GWX over a brand new, fresh and patched installation. This way players can be assured of no "leftover" modded files and hence will be providing the most stable platform in which to overlay GWX.

And let's be frank here - it's all about getting GWX to play.

Don't get me wrong, I like JSGME - it was obviously developed by a wonderful, talented and seemingly handsome guy, but using it WILL NOT GET GWX INSTALLED TO A PLAYABLE LEVEL. GWX just makes too many changes to SH3 which even JSGME can't cater for - to support enabling GWX via JSGME would mean manual post-installer installation instructions, which will simply equate to player frustration followed by the inevitable "GWX sux" or "GWX doesn't work" threads. No thanks!

I keep clicking my GWX icon and it doesn't work!! GWX sucks!!

Some stupid error about "This mod hasn't even been released yet, it's not even installed, why do you keep clicking me? why is this shortcut even here!?" nonsense!

I wish you the best of luck Pants.

This is getting a 'little' out of hand.

Is this Gibs who has been banned? He's only just got out.

Not banned, only temporarily suspended. It´s not normal that someone decides to edit or delete a hundred of his posts, I see it as an act of sabotage. If Neal decides that Cdre Gibs´ behaviour was acceptable his suspension will be lifted. By the way, Kpt. Lehmann said that he "tried like hell to talk him out of this direction he has chosen".

@Gizzmoe, in your PM to Gibs, you only stated that he is suspended from posting. There was no mention of anything else.

They are his posts. Has he deleted anyone elses posts? no!
He typed them, if wanted to he could just edit said posts to say *deleted" and take up page room, he did'nt want to do that so he opted to delete the posts.
So why suspend him for going something to his OWN posts? THAT is what i cannot understand,
"I see it as an act of sabotage" Why? they are his OWN posts if he wants to delete said posts why should'nt he?

That´s an old post that has nothing to do with the current situation.

He´s suspension ended on 5th of November, now it was continued to last to 11th of November - reason: "Account locked and under review. You´ve deleted or edited about a hundred of your posts."

It´s destructive behaviour, it breaks a lot of threads. If I hadn´t stopped him he would´ve deleted even more than 100. Like I said, if Neal disagrees with me the suspension will be lifted and he can come back in a few hours.

Sorry Giz you are wrong.
A direct quote from YOU.
vBulletin Message

You have been banned for the following reason:
Account locked and under review. You´ve deleted or edited about a hundred of your posts. I will discuss this with Neal, he´ll decide if that is acceptable behaviour or not. - Gizzmoe

Date the ban will be lifted: 11-13-2006, 06:00 PM

If it is NOT and ban why does it say BANNED?
