Hi mate,

Sorry my English is sometime not enough to express my self clearly, the diesel sound have different loop in game so if you can adjust it to fit each different engine throttle speed?

For the interior it was just depending on situation but we can try to make a little more variation so player don't feel bored listening to the same loop over and over again. Before modifying anything let wait for others team members opinions

And yes if you could find some friends to record basic chat and common German ww2 expressions it would be just great

Try to see what type of dialog u-boot crew used to have in the different situation like submerged, surface on bridge etc.

I already have a German voice pack if i can find it in my pile of dvd it is from the regular Wehrmacht army but some loop might be ok.

Don't sweat i loved it am just making positive critic so we can make thing great.

Best regards Hans

The ship will look great because i used a new technique for rendering the texture i mean i just model an ocean with the same water color as in mod and took an overcast skydome after that i place the ship in the middle with all different part assembled.
pretty clever hans So is this is for the ambient shadows (AO), or for the objects shadows? Also, for specularity pass, are you going to combine that into the texture via paint program too?

Hi mate,

For both we get both with RTT it is blend in the diffuse pass how wonderful 3d can be heh

And i already start making the video series for you guys so you can start having wet texturing fun

The specular pass is adjust in paint program and save in alpha.

I am the most happiest man on earth when i am sitting at my desk modeling

Best regards Hans

hi Hans,

very cool, mate

why do i feel that im going to learn a lot of good knowledge in 3D

Hi Franky, I listened to the audio, very nice clips. Reaqlly like the crowds and fanfare clips. I like the crewman heartbeat over the opening menu. May be cool to have it speed up (like hes in antcipation)? I agree with Hans about the ambient. I have 3 different ambient tracks which i slip in over the course of a patrol (via JGSME) for variation. A lot of guys like the ones that have dialogue taken out of Das Boot. I could also see doing this with Harbor sounds, so if you leave from Kiel it may be one sound, and from St Nazzaire another, what do you think?

Also, I would make a few variations of other sounds as well, so Hans has an ability to choose ones he likes, based on his extensive knowledge of the game and what will work best. Great work so far mate!

Hi, Hans!
found some stuff on the vesikko, thought you might enjoy (even if you're modelling type II specifically):

http://www.kolumbus.fi/mika.ajomaa/Panorama_2.html

it's panoramic shots of locations in and on vesikko
found it on:

http://www.vesikko.fi/galleries/images

@makman;
has some shots of the scope on the vesikko which was the "original" type II

hi mates,
thanx for feedback.good ideas i will think over.the opening menu song is just for fun.i dont think that it should be in final version.but good idea with speedin up heartbeat.
with the idea of sounds from das boot im not conform.hard to explain in english for me
hahd is an high quality standalone product.with das boot sounds it would be like an movie imitation.that is not in my mind.if anyone would have das boot sound he could do this as addon.hope you understand what i mean in my broken english.

best regards

franky

Hi mate,

I totally agree with you on the das boot sound track don't get me wrong i loved the sound track but i prefer that we made our own sound track with realistic German chat.

I don't want to copy a movie track to use as ambient sound and if shipmates absolutely want it then they can activated in jsgme.

So my opinion is that we redo all our way to get a genuine feel in mod

Best regards Hans

Hi mate,

Thank for the link but i already have it

I think i search everywhere on the net in many different languages to find info on typII and nada almost nothing i even try for the periscope optic info and niet.

That one of the reason i put so much attention on detail on models and props because that part of history will vanish completely sooner or later.

Preserving history in a mod is another way to immortalize it

Best regards Hans
