^Fair comments.

I watched the speech but fell asleep ten minutes from the end. He really didn't have much to say and was overly careful when it came to anything that might upset his paymasters. An example being his admission he was anti-Trident but he did qualify the view by stating that scrapping it must not mean the loss of any jobs/a 100% transfer of skills into other areas (no doubt demanded by McCluskey and co).

What did annoy me was the sight of Burnham and the look of his undying admiration seated in the front row (no doubt he's eaten his little apple and is eagerly awaiting another).

Oh, Wait, wasn't he the one quoted in the press a week before the announcement of the leadership election stating a victory for Corbyn would be 'disasterous for the Labour Party'?

So when do we learn of any forthcoming policies?

Dear oh dear, Corbyn backs down from getting rid of Trident after pressure from the unions but publicly states he would never 'push the button'.

Next political mess should become apparent if he and his cohorts can ever agree on any tangible policies.

Early days jim, hope your not siding with the establishment press. Toff Boy backed down on his loaded pro EU question he was going to use in the referendum.

Agreed, early days but the beginning is hardly earth shattering.

Aye, from an era when Labour were serious competitors.

RIP Sir

If elections actually changed anything, they would be forbidden.

As long as at least one country have them, there'll always be others.

^ good argument, yes i hope so.

On the other hand, my ever-pessimistic mind tells me that what we call democracy is not a real one, but it is the best to expect, the time we live in being as it is.
I think it is not the best, but at least it helps to disperse power, which is imho one of its biggest accomplishments

David Cameron has pledged to "finish the job we started" as he delivered his big Conservative conference speech.
The prime minister, who will step down before the next election, said he did not have the "luxury of unlimited time" and pledged "a greater Britain".
He launched his most outspoken attack on Labour's Jeremy Corbyn, accusing him of a "Britain-hating ideology".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34460822

Not one of his best speeches but he did show where Corbyn and Labour are currently at.

The Tories are certainly trying to hoover up anything that falls off Labours table. They're trying to appeal to the center and center left but their members keep betraying their 'nasty party' origins.
