I am playing a steam version SH4UBM, my game folder is D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Silent Hunters wolves of the pacific In stock SH4,when I am at periscope depth(about -15 meters) and rise up my periscope, the enemy ships near me(about 200 meters) will see my periscope and shot me. But after I installed FOTRSU v0.56, the enemy no longer has any responding(even I get close to 50 meters),unless I am above -11m depth. |

VIIC, in FOTRSU, enemy lookouts are much sharper than stock lookouts. You're saying they won't shoot unless you're above 33', at which point your entire conning tower is above water and your deck is about a foot below the water.
Long before you can get to that level you should be dead. Something is wrong with your game installation and you probably need to completely reinstall SH4UBM to get back to a certified stock installation. That's very easy to do with Steam. Just remove local content and then reinstall from the Steam menu. Then reinstall JSGME, Large Address Aware (don't even THINK of running FOTRSU without that), and FOTRSU. Then you'll be wondering how to survive the Japanese shooting at your sub so accurately!

Agreed. You may have loaded a "Save" from the stock version of the game, or a previous mod save might be interfering...

Well... that ain't supposed to be... Be sure and activate Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate first, then the Bigger Better Protractors, though even if you didn't, I don't know how that'd influence enemy AI behavior...
Are you maybe in the Submarine School "SS03 Torpedo Attack" mission there? If so, that Mogami crew's "efficiency" is set to "Poor", so that you don't get all shot-up while learning to do either automatic or manual torpedo runs, and so the ship stays "straight and true". Try the "SS06 Torpedo Attack - Difficult" instead. That crew is set to "Veteran", and should react to seeing you... maybe... |

Take Your Buddy To Work Day?
While patrolling just east of Tsugaru Strait between Hokkaido and Honshu at approximately 142-58E, 41-27N on April 5, 1943 (12:00) I came across a Medium Heavyload Freighter with fore and aft AA guns. Looking closer, using my new drone (F12) I noticed the gun crews are apparently doubled up! I've never seen this before, and it might be worth checking out in someone's copious free time (!).

... and they'll probably have a time of it getting that gun to elevate properly, what with the barrels through the bin's railing like that... I wonder if there's actually a 2nd gun in that emplacement, and it's an equipment failure, as far as dates go?... That's the NL_C vessel...
Edit: The rank amateur that I am, there's nothing in a CFG file for the vessel, but the DAT file shows AA gun 3 and 4. No #1 or #2. There are only the fore and aft tubs (flakpods). The SIM file shows 1, 2, 3, and 4 turrets... Does that make this like Doublemint Gun?... - little play on words there, sorry... Last edited by propbeanie; 05-10-17 at 08:04 AM. Reason: findings |

So they do eight versions of the equipment, 4 with nothing in either, two for each of the two tubs, with a single 20mm, one for each, with a 37mm the same way... The dates between the two overlap somewhat... The null can go from either 19380101 to 19421231 or to 19420331, depending upon "tub", I suppose... A01 through A04... This reminds me of the Pensacola, which is back to being backwards, but works like that... - I don't see a 3rd barrel in there from the single, although there is that shadow in the middle of the 37 twin, and there is the odd looking magazine area...

No, there are four Anti Aircraft/weapon slots:
A01 A02 A03 A04 Which means there are 4 possible locations on the ship that have Anti Aircraft positions........ (that should always be verified, by looking at the .dat file of the ship and see if their properly placed). Quote:
Two things about dates. They should be correct in their description....no date of September 31st and the like. And, the "change" from having no weapons on one date, to having one on the next, needs to be without a gap in time. You go from August 4, 1943 to August 5, 1943 without a gap in time. Also, when looking at these kinds of files....make certain the [Xxxxxxx 1] (In this file their called the [Equipment 1] headings) are in "order". You have eight [Equipment ?] entries in your file. Make sure they follow an order......[Equipment 1], [Equipment 2], [Equipment 3] and so on. There's nothing out of wack with what's written here. Where the issue probably lies is in the 37mmDouble gun itself. Look in the Library/ShipParts/ folder and track down the 37mmDouble gun and see what it points to for a crew.
