Hi Gap, some info on aviation in Murmansk region:
Up to June 1941 there were existing airfields:
Vaenga-1
Murmashi
Shonguj

Alakurtti - was captured by German's in 1941 up to 1944

During the first period (1941) the most popular fighter-types Used by Soviet Northern Navy in Murmansk region and Karelia were: I-15bis, I-153, I-16, only some Mig-3, Jak-1
Since the beginning of 1942 and further appeared Hurricane Mk1-2, Bell P-39, P-40 (Land-lease).

F.e: 72-nd mixed airforce regiment: on 22 June 1941: fighters - I-15bis-28 units, I-153 - 17, I-16 - 4; bombers - SB - 11 units
on 1st January 1942: fighters - I-15bis - 16/9 (total/in flight condition), I-153 - 14/9, I-16 - 13/6,
Mig-3 - 4/2
bombers - SB - 10/7, Pe-2 - 3/3, DB-3f - 4/2, TB-3 - 1/1


In June 1941 Northern Navy had only 116 planes of all types (mostly old one) , the whole Northern front - 275 planes of all types only

I know it, but for gameplay... Must be a balance between history and gameplay. This - the game.
Actually, I didn't expect, that it will enhance Trevally mods a new Russian airbases.

There are over 50 countries in the roster folder . I don't think there are that many flags in the flag chart . How do you addd more flags ? Where are the DDs etc ? My bad , I will remove the smaller flags for warships mod .

The flag.dat in Library can be worked on with S3D.
That's the stock version of SH5 anyway.

Maybe Trevally could supply a sub patch for the guns to stop the ctds as the link that serge65 has is broken .

Yes Serge, I know that, but Gap've being asking for historical info, and I tried to put here some. In fact this issue is so complicated that it should take several weeks to estimate, which of the soviet AF-regiments and in what period of time have based at this or that airfield.

The best for gameplay/historical balance solution IMHO should be:
- to place 4-5 airfield (which were most actively used);
- to position on them 2 types of fighters (Hurricane, which game-model already exist and some else, but not Jak-1 or Mig-3), and 2 types of bombers (torpedo carriers).
