Hello all, new recruit here pulled in by Wolfpack345. I followed the 28 step instructions to the letter and even applied the sh3 patch. I have been working on this for hours and I feel I just need this last thing fixed.

Yep. The ideal situation would be to set your monitor to a native 1080x1920 resolution. Both ATI and Nvidia can do this. Additionally, setting the scaling correctly is important.

If you extracted everything you accidently put in a version that does not work. , It is no big deal to fix. Try this, Download this version of the patch here, http://www.mediafire.com/file/rjr3cr...%2529.rar/file Extract the files and put them in your SH3 game folder. Go into your Silent Hunter 3 game folder and look for a batch file called "Tychosh3patch" There are two files with the same name. You want the batch file that has little gears in the icon. Double click.. A DOS window opens , "Press any key to continue..." The window goes away. That should fix your problem. Hope this helps. |

I downloaded, copied, and ran that file as suggested but the cmd window pops up and reports "fail" before closing with a key press.
The result is the same. Game looks pretty good but the nav map is all out of sorts. Thanks for your response, perhaps I've erred somewhere and should start over? Its just an annoyingly long install process to which I believed I'd given every attention to detail. Regardless, I appreciate your attempts at making this game accessible on modern operating systems. |
