When I build websites, I always open IE for verification, as it often need tweaks as it won't adhere perfectly to W3C standards, and I only produce XHTML 1.0 Strict code.
However, for my everyday life, I use only Firefox, and that since the beginning, it was called Phoenix, and had no installation, just a plain old folder that we placed whatever we wanted and created a shortcut to the desktop. :p When website forces me to use IE, I leave plain and simple. But that, is becoming very rare as Mozilla is to trying to circumvent those "IE website only" issues with internal coding. |

FireFox all the way baby!! I starting using it about 2 years ago. Now I have it installed on my desktop and laptop. I also convinced 2 friends to start using it... now they are hooked (BTW, one of those is a Mac user)
Maybe we should start a FF lovers thread, and post what themes, extentions and stuff we use. ![]()

Been using IE for a long time, currently on 6.0.
I've always wanted to install Firefox to get the plug-in that downloads videos from YouTube with ease. But I always leave that for the next day and so time passes and I still don't have Firefox and still use IE.

For a long time I also thought that Firfox was the best. But I must admit I never tried Opera (I just tried IE, IE+shell, FF). And actually most people I know that shout that FF is the best never tried Opera at all.
So last week I finally installed Opera and I like it. Surfing feels faster and the look and feel is way better. Some tiny things are better in FF but generally I like Opera better. And the quality of the widgets definately beats all the extensions from FF And what about mac users, I thought they used Safari. But no one voted for that, so no mac user in this thread ? The latest IE7 is really good as well, I really liked it, even more than FF. But like Porhy wrote "or is it that It is nice with a change? " Last edited by Drebbel; 10-01-06 at 01:38 AM. |

Usually use IE6, trying opera for a while. Can't get too excited over it all to be honest, at the end of the day it's a browser not a religion

Nice thing about opera is that it is also cross platform. So I can use it on both Windows and OS X. Yes the widgets are very nice. I work with my browser everyday, which is why I have come to use opera. It is reliable and powerful, a tool that you cannot ignore once you have started using it. Like getting quality powertools. Going back to IE now would feel like using saw and hand drill again. Going FF would feel like getting over-featured powertoys of poor quality. My Foxes always crashed way too often for my liking. And with extensions it becomes clunky. I did use FF for a while, but I never came to enjoy it. However it pleases me that so many actually can see farther than IE, be it FF or Opera.

I also just downloaded Opera. I have to say, this browser is the best yet so far. Way faster then IE7 and FireFox. Real smooth browser. Right on.
