Z- PLAN: light aircraftcarrier "Seydlitz"

The LCV "Seydlitz" was based on the CA "Seydlitz", a ship of the "Admiral Hipper"-class.
The CA "Seydlitz" was built very slow, because of other KM projects, like "Lützlow" and "Prinz Eugen".
In 1942, after the CA was nearly completed, the construction was stopped and it was considered to modify the ship as an aircraft carrier. All superstructures were removed in 1942/1943, but because of the bad resource situation the project was stopped. The unfinished ship was transfered to Königsberg, were it served as a barrack ship. in 1945 it was sunk by russian air attacks. After war it was raised by the russians.
