Hi,

Maybe he had taken the site down for routine maintenance or even a concern that he had produced a website that allowed X1 to download the software that turned into Seewolves, and was trying to protect all the modders that host there, from anymore ~ "stealing" - i feel the term is appropriate!!

Just my pennys worth!!

It´s cute how you try to defend him... He was angry, he tried to f*ck us, that´s basically the whole story.

I think all this backbiting and name-calling is childish. Terrapin owns his website and he has every right to do whatever the heck he likes with it. And certain moderators should know better how to behave on a web forum. If this sort of nonsense took place on a forum I moderate, the above posts would be deleted because they are nothing more than flame-bait.

That this sort of nonsense should occur on Subsim is a shame. That much of the childish nonsense comes from a moderator is doubly shameful. There is no excuse for the forum moderator trying to cheat the profanity filter.

What's up with all of the hooplah over X1 stealing our stuff, anyways? Yes, I've read the "anti-X1" boards and am informed on the going-ons, but if no one buys their ****, no harm, no foul... right? Seriously, how much money are they going to make??? They aren't taking any of my money? And if you agree with me on this, X1 probably won't be taking any of your money, either...

First he makes himself basically the only major source for all SH3 mods and then he shuts the site down without warning. But that´s ok, because, as you write, he owns his website and he has every right to do whatever the heck he likes with it. Yeah, sure!

I'm quite calmed... I haven't said anything bad, or so I think, nor I haven't flamed. I'm not responsible whether someone may have misunderstood my posts.

Cheers

No, there is no excuse for this and it´s a biiiig shame. Maybe I´ll feel ashamed about it in 20-30 years. But that´s unlikely.

No, not you martes86. I guess I should have said 'A certain moderator'.

Terrapins site is simply the best! All his work for adding mods all the time must be hard, but i am abit surprised then i found this site:

http://mpgtext.net/u-boot/component/...page/Itemid,1/

Either its the same site but with a different CNAME, or somebody has cloned his site before he closed it down. In short, site is up!

Either way, i thank you(s) for getting this site up again Thinking of it, it really is the worlds biggest file database of SH3 mods.

The problem is that new SH3 players need to be informed about this, and the more we talk about it, the more likely they are to find out before they buy Seawolves, and the more likely it will become known by word of mouth that Seawolves is a scam, which will filter through to the SH3 players who don't come to these forums (and that's a big majority of SH3 players).

The point is that lots of people ARE buying it because they don't know about the scam yet. We can't just sit back and assume that because you and I aren't going to be fooled, that everyone else knows the facts too.

I bow to the all wise, all knowing, Gizzmoe. BTW: I've been to Terrapins site numerous times both yesterday and today and downloaded several mod with no problems. I also never saw the screen you all have been talking about, go figure.

The best way to figh against x-1 is spreading the scam in the forums, and increase the number of sites with mods... no closing sites.

I don´t know if x-1 is making money , but his scam about free mods could fall in the p2p networks or not purchased by the people tha t prefers download stand alone mods or other packs.

In any case, thanks for putting your site back up Terrapin. I had lost all my mods when I upgraded to a new computer, and after hearing that ubootsimulation.com was gone, I despaired of ever getting all those mods back.
Thanks again!

Fight x1 with the same weapons will be to created a Fan Label add-on for silent hunter3, in collaboration with an editor, perhaps ubisoft; all mods choosen will be re-writing by professionnels (real ones), to be in good "design". This sort of game may have a futur.
