This Ship:
LUSBremen=Big Liner TS Bremen or Linienschiff TS Bremen The Model: ![]() Real Ship: ![]() ![]() Other another site showing good quality of Bremen ship model SS Europa Camparision: Length Wideth Depth SS Bremen 286.1m x 31.1m x 21.8 m promenade deck SS Europa 283.5m x 31.0m x 24.1 m LUSBremen 246.7m x 27.6m x 24.8 m Result: At first glance it might seems the model marginally resemble the real ship. The funnel are right size, the masts are in right position, even features a seaplane at top deck. Not until you take a closer look at the data and details then nothing looks right. The model borrowed hull from Passener Liner Lusitania.I'm not say you absoultely cant borrow bases from other ship to build new ones. But gernally speaking the outcome is rather poor.Unlike other ship models which entends to be over scaled this one is under scaled. SS Bremen features a stepped decks in the back the model show flush deck. The entire aft section is completely wrong. The deck house should be extended all the way back. The properllers needs to spaced futher apart. All details are missing. The promenade deck passage(where the life boats are)should be encircle all around the ship, and with rain cover. The life boat and ravits needs to raise higher so people wont be bumping their heads when walking underneath. The passage below should be windowed not opened. ![]() Last edited by shadow_wxh; 02-05-21 at 03:22 AM. |

I think all tanker reseamble each other at some degree.Flush deck, split house, engine aft,2 masts. Not too sure how much other tankers diifer from T3 series. But this one is just way too big there is no way it can fit into any WWII tanker. And what troubles me is many 2020 super mods still includes those wrong ships. |

This Ship:
PKDF= KDF Liner Gustloff The Model: ![]() Real Ship: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Comparsion: Length: Width: Height: Wilhelm Gustloff 208.5 m 23.5 m 17.2 m (promdeck) PKDF 180.5 m 22.4 m 27.8 m Conclusion: The model is made too short and too tall. The different layers of decks and their relevent dimesions are all mismatch. The details of handrails and weather shelter on top of the deck are alomost all missing. The fore deck crane is too skiny and aft deck crane did not show. The life boats are made too small and the davits should be in "C" shape not "L" shape. All deck below prom deck should be windowed not opened. The details of entire aft section if completely wrong and the deck balcony extruded too much. Notes: This is a iconic ship with lots photos, drawings and documentation available plus a very tragic stroy, there is more than enough data to take it right. Futhermore this is a luxury cruise ship it is all about good looking,if it is made too dull and rouph you better stay back too merchants. Anyone who try to take the challege and model this ship should take it seriously.Otherwise it just became a disappointment and eyesore. Last edited by shadow_wxh; 02-14-21 at 05:50 AM. |

I'll definitely go visit you shipyard and have a look which ship I can replace. Those ones that I listed here are the ones that differ too far away from real design and I see no reason any SuperMod should include them. |

Finally decided to go back and have a double check of this ship we talk about it before.
PPL= Passenger Liner Which come along in the original SH3. The Model: ![]() It is quite affimative this the SS Monterey refitted after WWII ![]() ![]() SS Monterey 1970 I wouldn't say the model is wrong because suprisingly despite the lack of details the ship general demensions all checked up.However this is not the ship belongs to the WWII era.The foredeck H kingpost is clearly a modern type and the post and top the ship is a navigation radar.I would not include this model in the basic model database. I have seen a lot of ship modellers use this model as base to make new ships. It is just not a very good practice and gernerally the outcome is quite poor. |

This is an example of poor quality ship produced based on not so good models.
PPLHansa=NDL Liner ![]() There is no ship to match this one The PPL ship still have a real ship that It resembles too. This one total nosense. There wont be any WWII ship even close match to this.I doubt there will be any modern ship this can match too either |

Just went to you shipyard and have a double check on that Wilhelm Gustloff model. and I am sorry to say it didnt pass the basic dimension check. Here is a deck plan A drawing of Wilhelm Gustloff ![]() From what I measured from the model Length Width Height PKDF 216.4m 27.0m 22.0m Gustloff 208.5m 23.5m 17.2m The length is reasonably close. The width is went even further away and the height is still too much. As you can see from the drawings in the previous post Gustloff isn't that tall at all. The standard draft is only a little over 6meter and the height from promdeck to keel is only 17.2 meter. Regardless of details and skins.I think the first thing to satisfy is the overall dimension then we can worry about everything else later. I dont know if this is some kind of technical diffculty or something but most the pssenger liner tends to be higher than it should be. |

![]() ![]() Not an incorrect model, but IMHO the best merchant model I have ever seen for SH3 (yes, I know technically she is an auxiliary/raider. And the shot is SH5). But the model has been used in various SH3 mods. I don't know who made it but it is a masterpiece. -Inverse camber to the hull, instead of straight/blocky shape -Lots of nice rigging -Ventilators & cranes properly sized and sited -Hull flags & lettering -Crane booms in correct sea-going position -Highly detailed deckhouses -Plausible width/depth of hull for the time period This is the kind of craftsmanship modders and game makers should strive for. |

Taken from SH5 so the creators were the Dev's.
I'd say Gabi Barbu was probably the 3D artist. Based on the information in the SH5 file Penguin_FX.GR2. I also note he was a Dev for SH4 and listed as LEAD Artist for SH5 as Gabriel Barbu. I could be wrong but that's my best guess. Would you like a list of every file that contains his name in SH5? ![]() I can probably tell you what program was used to get the files from the SH5 GR2 also. ![]() Last edited by Jeff-Groves; 03-28-21 at 01:15 PM. |
