Hope anyone who is in the path of this one has gotten well away from the coast. If it continues on its projected path, this could be a really bad one, skirting the coast from West Palm Beach, Florida all the way up to NC.

Matthew is at the moment a bit unpredictable. The latest computer and ensemble models have it looping clockwise and back accross Florida. Ensemble is parroting the GFS model which is comparable to UKMET longrange forecast both have been very accurate in past seasons. Time will tell. One thing is for sure if it does skirt Hatteras and heads out to sea. Fishing is gonna be good where Im at!

If you heard on the news we had rather a nasty storm here in South Australia less than a week ago. We had a small tornado go through our place, was the most frightening thing I've ever been through. I was caught outside when it hit, all I could do was cringe against the wall and pray!! The roar was deafening a mixture of wind, breaking tree branches, and various items breaking/falling apart!!
![]() My wife's poor garden built under a tree is badly damaged but the tree is smashed. We had 3 antennas up, all have been bent over. ![]() Could have been a lot worse though, at least the house is ok. It's gonna take a while to clean up the mess and repair the damage! ![]() This is the first time a cyclone has hit the SA coast, IIRC 22 electricity towers were flattened. Crazy weather!! ![]()

It looks like my family and myself are going to be in the thick of it being to the north of West Palm Beach. We're as prepared as we can be and this is going to be our first experience with a hurricane. I got called into work today and it was a madhouse with lots of people getting last minute supplies like water, batteries, bread and so on. The store ran out of water within one hour or so of getting another nine pallets in and more are expected tonight or really early tomorrow morning.

Are you staying put? How far from the water's edge are you? One thing that I still marvel at is the accuracy of long range hurricane prediction, the computer modeled paths; when I was young there was nothing like this. Meteorologists would make guesses but hurricanes were noted for being unpredictable. Stay safe, man. Want to keep us updated?
