they kind of hinder creativity honestly. At least when the rate is a new game every year or every other year.

I like it when a development team makes a good title supports it for a year or two and then moves on to something new maybe revisit the previous title4 or 5 years later. Not very common these days.
You can do a series without making too many sequels....we're not talking Call of Duty's definition of series....but maybe a Fallout or Bioshock length series.

It would have been nice to have had a little bit more of the game play footage without the over analyzing. I disagree with what they said about length expecting a movie and a game to have a comparable length is kind of silly. In Alien I estimate that you only actually see the xenmorph for around 7 or 8 minutes that is it screen time.

Think about it if you where on a huge space station or ship it would take you a few days or several hours at least for things to come to fruition.A movie has to tell a story in roughly 2 hours and must also use different cues to keep a person interested.Alien (the film) must maintain suspense so everything happens quickly after Kane dies minor details like showing Ash build a motion sensor or Parker build the flame throwers and for the xenomorph to grow to full size all that would really take several hours but such details are not needed in a film.Or when they walk to the derelict ship in the beginning(Ash says that the source was 2000m away) in that environment such a walk would take at least an hour one way and then to explore the ship and carry Kane back that would take at least 3 or 4 hours.

Just nevermind them and enjoy the gameplay footage - that's what I did and it worked.
I am impressed. Looking forward to that possible gem.

Indeed I do not fathom how these "Youtube video game dudes" managed to gain such creditably with some.Just by what most of them say it seems that many are almost schizophrenic.

Especially when playing what is clearly a very early build to make such judgment.Maybe I just am not that picky I simply expect no product to 1000% what exactly I want it to be it is not realistic and is a bit self centered.

Something should be what it is on its own I feel even if it is part of a larger franchise.Let it be what it is not a literal game of Alien(to give an example). You see much of this kind of thinking these days on both ends the developer and the buyer.People fail to realize that certain feelings are partially nostalgia for something they watched or played in the past that feeling can not truly be replaced by something newer even if it is related in some way.So far this looks like it is on the right track.

Looks really cool, looking forward to playing this one.

I was also looking forward to Colonial Marines, but after reading and watching reviews i didn't even bother.

I really love this movie franchise so hope Isolation turns out decent.

Looks interesting buuuuuuuut..... will avoid like the plague for at least the first 6-12 months as Aliens Colonial Marines (and season pass) was a colossal waste of money: for me that has just soured any Alien franchise game for the foreseeable future

You dont give up on women just because you have a bad experience with one so why give up games because some are bad? Just avoid the pit falls no pre-order no season pass no day of launch purchase.Just wait a 2 or 3 weeks you'll know by then if a game is good or not.

Any time a game spends 5 or 6 years in development like Colonial Marines did that never is a good sign nothing good comes from that kind of situation.Someone can get a Masters degree starting form scratch in the time it took to develop that game.Such a long development time just screams cluster doodle.

Can we just relax and let the tiny details go?

Let's enjoy it for what it is and complain later...

I was determined not to buy any new Alien game (at least, not at launch) after the mess known as ACM.

"Was" being the operative word.

I have to wait and see how it goes when it launches. I've had to learn the hard way several times about getting a game as soon as it is released.

I have set my sights on this one meanwhile, but wait to learn more about gameplay. If it is just one scripted playing-through and then you're done, it's probably not for me.

For what I know, it is. The story and objectives are scripted/pre-determined.
But the alien is, for the very most parts, "free" and ues its actual senses to find, track and kill its prey.

But it is wise to wait and NOT pre-purchase or something like this.
While it looks phenomenal and seems to be the very first real Alien game... I have yet to be convinced this is true after all these disasters in this franchise.

Just a week to go now.
A good time to watch the first movie again before release.
Or just all of them. All three...

I wonder when the review embargo is lifted. PooDIEALREADYpie of all people got a green light to start his playthrough (the first episode at least, first 20 min or so).
