A few years back a friend of mine ask me to drive to St John's, Newfoundland, with him to visit his ailing step mother. There I was introduced to the local fish and chips. It was unbelievable. Fresh cod and PEI potatoes.

By the end of our one week stay we were eating it three times a day.

Have not had any better since.

Ah, roll-mop herrings, I occasionally get some. Delicious, and even better as I'm the only one in the house that likes them.

mmm..., i do love the roll mops But in the fish 'n' chip shops down here it's usually barramundi, snapper or flake (shark).

I went for a ride on a steam train when I was young tacker, all I really remember was that every time I stuck my head out the window I got a face full of coal/soot!

Had some nice flathead with chips and some calamari rings today for lunch. Very nice.

I once ate squid on my honeymoon in Cyprus 1984 and that's about as adventurous as I get with sea creatures

I've had pickled herring, in small amounts it isn't too bad! Couldn't live on a steady diet of it though. Have to have Fish & Chips made the old fashion way (or should say the original British version), sometime in my life!

If that's as adventurous as you'll get Jim, then you wouldn't want to have this food we had at our annual state fair. Now you'll understand why I haven't been there in over 40 years
