Thailand is more "american" than the modern day USA so as a future expat I prefer Tiger Beer.

The best beer is German-made Heineken. Another good one is the Norwegian nordlandspils (nordlandspilsner). Literally Northlandpilsner.

But brewed all over the world by licence as are many others, Carlsberg for example.
When I was living in Holland my favourite was Oranjeboom. |

I am under the impression that all Hieneken that comes to America is Dutch. At least it is labled as so.
Not that I like it. Not that it is bad, just not something I would buy. (Yet will drink) Imports are pricy for some reason, too many rubes who think foreign means more sophisticated, and drink it on social appearances, rather than taste and enjoyment of beer. Not a slight if you enjoy the brand, just an observation amongst my peers. We have to do something about getting Yuengling to Europe, then they might stop trashing American beer as a whole. ![]() Even get them a taste of some Sam Adams Boston Lager. We do know what we are doing here!

Yeah I should have clarified a bit. I guess my point was my tongue was missing out on what your tongue was catching, even a small thing like water used can make a difference. There is a thing around here in the Mid Atlantic about NYc baked bread is very different and much better tasting than bread from other regions. It is because (theoretically) NYC and some of Northern NJ is supplied by the Catskill regions, clean water that originates as snowmelt, and not land runoff. Perhaps it is a unique mineral composition but the water really makes it better. Following the same recipe in LA would not net the same results. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/639748 Ok it is pizza but not beer, my point is (after much meandering) no matter the recipe, the ingredients used make the difference. I would be willing to bet the Berlin version is different than what they sell the Dutch. Much like Canadian Molson is different than what they sell to us Yanks. (Though I do enjoy the occasional road trip to Montreal, I know what you Canucks got up there, sick bastards! ![]() Weak pisswasser to the yanks, drunk off a 6 pack to the natives. ![]()

Of the German Bier's I'd rate Paulaner Dunkel as one of the better brews.
![]() Becks is for yuppie wankers. The beer that's most impressed me in the last few weeks is this one: ![]() Very tasty. You can stick your Foster's jokes where the sun don't shine 'cos you can't even buy that pisswasser over here anymore. Sold it to the Yanks and Poms who lap it up by all accounts. ![]() |
