It's all bunk. Some people would love to pretend that they have to live in fear of saying Merry Christmas or that some jackbooted thugs will haul your kid off to a gulag if he wears a Christmas sweater to school. Its the victimhood complex in action. There's a subset of hardcore fundamentalist Christians who would love to force their opinions on everyone else and institute a form of theocracy in this country, but they cover it up by pretending they're the victims who are having someone else's beliefs imposed on them and that there's some made up "War on Christmas."

But then again, Jon Stewart did declare a war on Christmas: "But as long as our enemies view the words "Happy Holidays", not as a lazy man's way to avoid the time-sucking double-holiday salutation "I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year", but rather as a subtextual "{expletive} and your Baby Jesus", THERE CAN BE NO PEACE!!

We will fight until we live in a world where free Americans everywhere seek not validation of their religious beliefs through Macy's signage. Where non-sectarian greetings are not seen as diminishing the most ubiquitous two-month holiday emergence since Caligula's birthday party. Until that day, I wish you and your family in this season a happy and heartfelt, end of the fiscal fourth quarter."

My god is better than your god.

In the next town over from me, the township Christmas decorations got taken down a few years ago, because the Menorah was smaller than the Christmas tree.

By the way, Christmas is bullcrap too.

If you love Christ, then love him in your hearts and deeds. Not in monetary devotions to friends and kin. Only the devil profits from worshipping Hallmark holidays, over the ideals of a fair and just god.

Book of Common sense: Passage 1:1

Jon Stewart is a jew who loves Christmas, how can you not appreciate an open mind

Heck. I'm an atheist who enjoys Christmas time, but Rick Perry and the fundamentalists would probably freak out over that too.

I have had people tell me that as an atheist, the fact that I am listening to Christmas music makes me a hypocrite.

I can't see why anyone would fault you. Snow is nice, Christmas lights are pretty, giving and receiving gifts is awesome, eating and drinking with friends and family is wonderful and a lot of big movies tend to hit the theaters around this time of year. I don't see why you'd have to be a believer in order to enjoy those things.

20.463 likes and 652.412 dislikes already, wouldnt make me wonder if the hit the 1 Million dislikes by Friday.

An appropriate answer (which of course none of us thinks of when we need it the most ) would be:
"I might not believe in Jesus, but sure as hell I believe in Santa Claus."

Currently 20 696 likes and 657 398 doesn't like.
In percentages that means that about 3,15 % likes and 96,85 % doesn't like.

What scares the hell out of me is that people who are saying outright scarry, bigoted crap like this are still managing to get huge amounts of support and votes ! Seriously. One of the major stances of most of the Republicans running for President is that all Muslims are terrorists, training to be terrorists, or are slowly being brainwashed into becoming terrorists, and we should watch out for them and shut down their mosques and schools and centers wherever possible. It makes me ashamed to be an American sometimes.

What happened to G.W.'s "The Muslim religion is a religion of peace." ??? I'll tell you what happened. The GOP threw it out the door to scare people and pick up votes.

How does a sheepdog herd sheep? By using intimidation and instilling a sense of apprehension or fear.

Politicians from both sides have learned this well.
