Default [REL] Manos Scopes for SH5 (only for TDW's Gui mod)

===========================
Manos Scopes-SH5 (for TDW's Gui)
===========================

(this optic mod is for use ONLY in TDW's gui . the version of TDW's guis that was used during the building of this mod was the v6.3.4)

1.Both scopes have now the , historically for german scopes, proper FOV (Field Of View) which is 38 degrees.

2.aobf tool's scales are , also , perfect calibrated so you can enjoy this brilliant mechanical calculator.

3.of course, low power zoom is setted to x1,5 and high power zoom to x6 (historical zooms for german scopes in ww2).

---------------------
Scopes specifications
---------------------

Attack and Observation periscopes:
------------------------------------

FOV = 38 degrees
zooms = x1,5 / x6

------------
Installation
------------

1. first of all you have to install TDW's gui (current version is v6.3.4)

2a. next, install the ''Manos Scopes-Core Files'' which installs the core files of the mod. the default files are for use at resolutions with 4:3 ratio

2b.attention: ONLY if you are NOT using a 4:3 resolution ratio !
then choose the ''Manos Scopes-patch for XXX'' that matches with the resolution ratio that you are using and install it immediately after ''Manos Scopes-Core Files''

3.This step is OPTIONAL. if you want a totally Black Background at scopes enable the ''Manos Scopes-Optional-Black BackGround''

------
Notes
------

Note 1:
-------

the aobf tool's scales for the uzo have been removed ! this is made so becuase there was no aobf tool at uzo device . uzo's main use was only for bearing readings.

note 2 (for the aobf tool):
-------------------------

if you are running after for precise results from this tool...you will need ,additionally, a mod that is correcting the ships's dimensions (masts and lengths).ToniloCoyote is preparing this mod ...so keep an eye on him when he release it(he is making,so far, a perfect job).
However,'hardcore' players are estimating(by eye) masts's or funnels's heights and ships's lengths and are using this mechanical calculator as ... a calculator for finding the ranges or aobs based on their estimations.harder...yes...but from now on ...its up to you how much hard you want to go for !

note 3 :
--------

this mod is effecting only the optics via attack and observation periscopes.
attention: there have been no workaround for the rest optic devices of sub ( uzo , conning deck , binoculars )...i left the stock settings for these.

--------
Credits
--------

to Trevally for all his patience on testing these optics to all different resolution ratios(a procedure that needs a ...looot of patience) and for all his participation-suggestions during the development of these scopes.

to Joegrundman for his brilliant aobf tool

to TDW for all his achievments so far in his gui mod

(for pics look at post 2 of this thread)

the mod can work ONLY in TDW's gui .the version that is used for building these scopes is the v6.3.4

these scopes have :

1. FOV = 38 degrees (histrorically ...most german scopes, during ww2, were using this FOV at low power zoom )(see third pic below)

2. perfectly adjusted scales for the aobf tool

3. low power zoom setted to x1,5 and high power zoom to x6 (again,historical zoom levels for german scopes)

the mod is ,also, eliminating the scales at uzo .this is done so becuase uzo's main use was only for getting bearing readings . (i hope and suggest to TDW to totally remove the aobf tool from uzo page at the future versions of his gui mod)

OBSERVATION SCOPE :

So happy to see you here Makman, thank you.
Waiting for MaGui SH5 version or at least a stand alone version of this mod

Looks great! A periscope big enough to fill the screen, with proper magnification and FOV - just what is needed.

Indeed, finally a state of art work. I might reconsider using TDW UI if this will be implemented, but I would still prefer a MaGui for SH5. Or better... Makman and TDW working together, the ultimate mod workshop :P

Hi Makman great work on this optics Mod, I wish to redo my own scopes in the ui-Boat mod.
Can I have your permission to use your Cam files for the correct FOV, I am prepearing to redo the RAOBF (Not the current ones as used in my UI, but ones moddeled on the actual RAOBF) and scope Optics plus correct Markings.
And wish to keep it as authentic as possible so 38 degrees would be the way to go.
Cheers mate and excellent work .

Hi Makman94,

I use yours scopes with the TDW ui last version. I have a question:

- your scopes use 6x magnify - in this case i must to install the mod NewUIs_TDC_6_3_0_6x_6x_7x_RAOBF_patch_stock_scope? If ,,yes,, what is the corect order? (i will install NewUIs_TDC_6_3_0_6x_6x_7x_RAOBF_patch_stock_scope first and your mod after?)

Thank's
