The leading developer just wrote this on his blog:

"
(Added 12 June 2010)
I can hardly think of another industry that is (at least for me) as agile, as inspiring and as challenging as creating games - especially games like SH. My heart (and I am sure it's the same for most of the guys who were in the team) lies with SH, as we still follow closely how the game is doing and looking forward for new adventures on the sea.
"

I especially like the last sentence...how close is closely and how exactly are they looking forward to new adventures on the sea? a new SH6? I dont know if I want to laugh or cry...

I'd say they have to be careful of what and how they post in Blogs.

I don't go to work and slam the Guy writing my pay checks.
Even if I think he's a Richard at times?
I'm careful who I talk to about it.

I'd bet there's some squirrely little French Guy just waiting to chop heads somewhere.

So this is only your interpretation.

Someone recently said he was pathetic, but you didn't say a word.

He spends all this time bashing SH5 and how trash it is, but yet devotes so many posts to it. Pathetic.

In short, p*** off.
That was 6 days ago, I didn't show the poster cuz there's no point in picking up a fight.

lol

he talks about sanity...
It simply says: ''Dude, before talking of sanity, perhaps you should look on yourself''

Kind of...

So IF (I don't think it has) that really hurt him, well I'm sorry, but maybe it can be useful, maybe.

I don't support the word ''fanbois'', but...

I've been asking politely, but they didn't reply yet.

So I wonder the reason why they are STILL frequenting this forum.

And I still stand behind those words. I've reported Brag's posts as trolling, but apparently the moderators don't share that opinion. I've pretty much given up on this forum exactly for that reason. If they're going to let his kind of antagonistic and "in your face" crap go unchecked, I choose not to be a part of it.

The key specialists part stinks like dead fish from an appreciable distance. I don't have information from inside Ubisoft Romania but I do have facts from companies larger than Ubi and with higher stakes. It usually works like this: why hire a competent team with high pay demands when it's easier to overwork one "key specialist". So give him a team of juniors who need help washing their hands after they go to the toilet and overwork the senior to make them crap diamonds. All while the management (local and remote) keeps asking for "status updates" and blaming all failures on the senior.
It works like a kiddygarten.

Sometimes good developers manage to salvage the project, sometimes they don't.
As I said I don't know if this is happenning with Ubisoft Romania. But I'm sure it ain't Nirvana Company either.

Just something to think about.

That's fine, I was just not sure it was correct to show your nickname.

Probably the best attitude for the future, but I'm still curious to know the reason why they are still here. That would put an end to all this.

In our opinion, it is more important to encourage acquisition of original game copies than to punish those who play pirated copies.
Wow! One game company gets it. Service to customers is more important than disservice to non-customers! Why is that so difficult to understand?

Every penny a company makes is because somebody thought the service they provided was worth paying for. Not everyone will need their product. Some people will try to steal their product without paying for it. How does seeking revenge against people of no value to them contribute to game company profits? It doesn't because it punishes their paying customers and leaves the offenders unhindered. I understand their desire for revenge. But they are hurting themselves and us who would willingly pay for a great game.

Great to see one game company who completely understands where profits come from and who is willing to operate in a way that maximizes them. Profits come from service, nowhere else.

The sad part is the Devs probably did not want DRM.
Look at the releases of SH3 now days.
The files have no traces of StarFarce but date back to the original release!
Yet Ubi Offically sanctioned ReLoaded's crack?
WTF Ubi?
I at times plant my head up my arse also.
But I don't do it is such a public way!

SH5 has become such a joke even SkidRow ignores it now?
When Pirates ignore your stuff?
You've messed up in a BIG way!

So, Ubi execs.
Put the drink down and listen for a moment.

The Devs in Romania had thier arses kicked over this.
They know what needs done and can correct this pile of
mis-intended cat scrappings.
You have a bunch of FREE sources that will work with them!
You only stand to make money! (And we know how much that means to you!)
You can bail on us and loose money as we will no longer buy anything that has Ubi in it's name.
If I see a tire that's tagged Ubitread?
I'll pass by.
Infact?
I'll stop buying anything French!
No more French Bread for me!
No more French Dressing on my salads.
No more French kisses to the wife!
(She hates you now!)
And I'll tell everyone it Ubi's fault!

Hell, I'll start a Blog and a twitter thingy just to expound the fact
that Ubi rates right up there with BP!

You both polluted our shores.
But are more then happy to take our money.

You may resume drinking your drink Ubi exec.
Enjoy it while it lasts!

Huh? Brains??? BRAAAAINS!!!!

Note to all haters of SH3-lovin' SH5 haters:

Ne'er mind me and Reece (SH3 lovers), we're not fanbois as much as funbois!

Now that I think of it, "funbois" may not go over well...

Ahh, I see. To me, reading that it sounds like the team's been disbanded and no longer working on Silent Hunter, but they still love the genre and hope there will be more games for it. I don't see much indicating that anyone is actively working on the game any longer.
