Hmm, it doesn't seem to detect my Saitek rudder pedals. Anyone have similar issues?
It doesn't show up in the controls. When I try only having the pedals connected to see if it makes any difference, the joystick field is greyed out.

I can use the joystick twist for now.

Edit: I have tried using the Saitek profile editor to make the pedals work, no luck yet.

They screwed the link to the MTX DL page, basically pasted the new URL at the end of the old one. That don't work.

Here's what they intended to do (MTX DL page): http://mektekdev.com/site/index.php?...id=96%E2%80%9D

Does anyone know how the bloody heck you're supposed to use MTX to install the .mtx files? I've got it downloaded, I had to close it earlier, and now if I try to install it again it starts to download it all over again.

This is getting ridiculous, and if I can't get it working I may just end up waiting til they release a normal installer.

There's a File -> Open MTX file option, not sure how it works though; download went through just fine for me.

I doubt they'll be releasing a normal installer, adding stuff to MW4 is a pain and I can see why they want a specific program to be able to further update it.

Just started the app and went to "games available" tab. Clicked on "Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries" and it started downloading through torrent.

If you cancel http DL it will start over, but torrent should continue where it left off. Other than that I don't know what happened, just let it finish and update before I shut MTX down.

I think I read somewhere on their forums that they were gonna release an installer separate from MTX.

At least I hope so

I got it installed but see nowhere to change my resolution...

Seems from talk on the forums that this release is VERY multiplayer-centric, not much there for SP.. but I haven't been able to play it, or even see part of the main screen lol, so I wouldn't know lol.

There's a file called autoconfig_MERCS.exe in the game's directory (It should auto-run when you start the game the first time), just click Advanced and you can change it.

Can't see why it would be 'VERY multiplayer-centric', they do have the original campaign with all of the new Mechs and weapons added to it.

Seems you are correct.

Quote:

We are very aware that some of you are having problems using MTX to download and install the free release of Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries. We are currently preparing a self extracting executable to install the game without using MTX.

This new release will require a new download, but should alleviate any of the issues of installing via MTX.

This new release will contain some bug fixes for Mercs, and we will prepare a patch for those of you who have been successfully installing and updating via MTX as well as executable patches to bring any version previously downloaded, up to date.

Once this new version clears our beta team, it will be made available for download in your BitTorrent client of choice. Please be patient as this may take a few days.

We will continue to work on ironing out the bugs in MTX, until then, we will provide an alternate way to acquire the game and updates through the self installing executables.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Good hunting.
The MekTek Team.

+100 points for the MekTek team So far it seems I'll still be trying to download this bloody game by the time they release that installer.

I had uTorrent running last night trying to at least get the .mtx file... about halfway through the download apparently I lost all connections and it's still at about 65%. *nyaagggghghghhraugghahg*

Awesome.

Totally geeking out on the customization again. Spending more time in the lab than on missions.

I think I'll grab it through the installation file when they put it up.

Any good sources on loadouts and such? Would really like an overview with mechs and their stats (weapon slots, armour, speed, etc).
