I did have this in the Help/installer, but took it out with this release because it is somewhat redundant (v2.0 was released three years ago). I might put it back again if it is causing confusion. |

@JScones,
Hi and thanks for the new version! There is one thing I find strange. Is it correct that when upgrading the old version to the new version the MODS are suddenly copied to folders outside the MODS folder? Now I find lots of folders under my D:\GAMES\Silent Hunter 5 folder when there used be just a few folders like DATA MODS and text. Also I find that nog all the Mods are working good when this happens. Deinstalling and installing again (with particularly checking for the right installing folder) gives the same result. thnx Marc |

Make sure each mod's folder structure is like:
“C:\Games\My Game\MODS\Cool Mod\data\etc” and NOT like: “C:\Games\My Game\MODS\Cool Mod\Cool Mod\data\etc” The latter has an extra folder included between the mod folder and data folder that will create the exact problem you are describing. More info in the User Guide, which you can access by clicking the Help link in JSGME. |

Hi,
Of course I always take care that the folder underneath is the datafolder. Am I to understand that regarding this, there is no answer as to why this is happening with the folders outside the MODSfolder? thncx Marc |

No systemic answer - JSGME still works the same as it always has, relying on you to tell it what to copy and where to copy it. That's the beauty of JSGME - it's "dumb". You give it a source (the mod folder itself), you give it a destination (where you have installed or pointed JSGME.exe), and it simply does the rest. Get it right, all's sweet. Get it wrong...
All I can suggest is that you double-check your installation, starting with ensuring that JSGME.exe is installed in (or pointed to, if you have a central installation) your "D:\Games\Silent Hunter 5" folder, your MODS folder is at "D:\Games\Silent Hunter 5\MODS" (and this same folder is displayed on the main screen of JSGME when you open it) and your mod folders are under MODS and follow the correct rule. Then, if you're still having problems, you may need to post screenshots. |

Just in case a moderator happens to magically appear, this thread can be destickied. It was only relevant when the new User Guide was a WIP. Now the User Guide is live, and accessible via the JSGME interface, it can be left to die.

DEAD - [TEC] JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME) User Guide
The linked website for JSGME and the online link from within JSGME are both dead. Is this no longer being supported?
