What mods are they? How do I get them in my SH3?

Let's hear what the United Nations has to say about SH5

Modded SH3 definitely looks much better, which is not unexpected really; modders take their time and produce quality work, developers run to a tight schedule and have to make do.

I still can't tell if the SH5 interior is too big, but it does feel bigger.
Especially in some shots:

I don't think such comparisons are fair. The devs are constrained by schedule, cost, and governed by system specifications, modders are not. I'm sure that if SH5 shipped with the modded SH3 images (as superior as they are), many less players would be able to enjoy them thanks to less than adequate computer specifications.

Besides, it's only a matter of time before such accuracy finds its way into SH5 - what you see there in SH3 is certainly not only doable in SH3.

Definitely when modders already have something to build off of, when developers don't. Such comparisons are definitely not fair.

What do you mean base off of? Flakmonkey modelled the diesel room and other new compartments from scratch AFAIK, there was nothing in SH3 to base these on. A graphical comparison is completely fair. He's done a magnificent job.

In fact they both look great to me. I've been using the beta mod in SH3 for a while, walking around more in my boat, interacting as much as possible w/ crew, riding the storm, crash dives, deep dives and depth charge attacks with them. It's pretty awesome as it is. That's why just thinking what SH5 will bring is getting me so excited. It doesn't matter if there is 28 crewmen, SH3 has even less and it doesn't bother. The whole boat is modelled and now walking around is built in the game, it's not done using the freecam. I hope more interesting interactivity options are present, like clicking gauges, operating levers and opening drawers, cupboards, to check out maps, books, etc. Adding to what the devs have done, w/ the strong moddability of all these aspects, the SH5 interior and living there will be a satisfying experience for sure..

The first thing I noticed, was the lighting.
Sh3 has that dim, cave like atmosphere that I think a sub should have. It gives that stale air, damp, smelly feeling.
Sh5 is kind of bright and clean. Also it looks to be they might have a U-boat that is about 3 feet to wide compared to the SH3.
Sh3 looks a lot better.

Also on a side note, will that mod beable to be used with sh4, I hope so. If you guys say yes, then I am sticking with OM forever!
or untill Ubi adds certain things and gets rid of another.

While i partly aggree, and in fact would take sh5s interiors over sh3s anytime i must say that modders are subject to the same limitations too.
System specs, the mod was initially tested on my 1.2GHz pIII/512Mb ram xp machine, try running shV on that!
Cost, well i had a max budget of £5000 and spent most of that on 3ds max 2010... and some cake
Schedule, well there you have me, there is nobody cracking the whip for me to finish, but i will say that from concept to having it in game for just the diesel room took 4 days.

Very nice. Modders really are miracle workers.
....I agree and someday we'll see miracles like those in SHV. Time to time.
