Thanks for the post. The 4 patches (if we get them) have now been confirmed...

We managed to play a preview copy of SH5, but it was apparent that it was not near completion. In one mission I managed to actually hit my target with the nose of my sub, and when I fired my torpedo, unbelievably it went around its target and completed its straight course. I’m not quite sure about the outcome of such situation in real life, but at least the torpedo should detonate on impact, deviate, but not make a full turn around the ship’s hull! Another annoying thing is the need to be hooked to internet to play SH5. The preview copy would freeze if the internet connection was lost, and to launch the game, I had to logon to Ubisoft services first!

Good find. I learned a little more about the game.

One thing is it has a setting for "Newbs" and one for "Experts".

All of these previews seem to be the same high level overviews by normal well adjusted people who aren't sub freaks. I doubt we'll get any information on the things we care about until Neal publishes his.

Thanks for sharing , finally a english preview. But why was the second part in arab? Or was it the same as the english part.
One more thing. Does anyone else noticed in the 3rd picture with the menu the u-boat is tied up to the right side of the pen with a rope? or is just that me?

i thought i just saw a dynamic shadow within the dynamic shadow
with dynamic lighting and dynamic crew feelings

btw no preview has yet revealed how detailed the realism option will be

There's no telling how old the version they previewed was. There's still a chance for hope.

So no one noticed this?

Quote:
Ubisoft has also announced the Collector’s Edition of SH5, coming in an iron box that contains the game, the manual, the map of the Battle of the Atlantic, the official guide, the original soundtrack, and finally 7 unique submarines. No price has been announced yet for this shiny box, however be prepared to hurt your wallet.
Whats that about?

I think that was discussed somewhere and it was determined to be skins for the VII. Not as exciting as it sounds.

Yeah... I've never understood what's the fuss about it. Have a few skins come as a bonus like "OMG, such exclusive stuff, it's worth 20 more bucks!!!!", a pretty lame commercial move. The printed stuff sounds like a nice added value though.

Finally they fixed that bug! I hated it when my torpedoes kept running into ships.

Now, I'm not one to spam smileys, but...

Best. Bug. Ever.
