USS Spearfish heading for patrol area in the Lombok Straight, had reports of enemy may be trying to capture Bali. May have to attempt night surface action due to shallow waters.

Going to stick with the PTO and the Hula Girls But maybe if they had SHV with Fleet Boat add on I might be tempted.

Ice cream machine?
by the way they are carrying on in the SH5 thread I think a popcorn machine would be more appropriate.

I recall a number of boats had ice cream machines installed. Good food was one of the perks of the fleet boats; helps keep morale up.

Yes, but there's no room for it on a Type VII.

Yes. Exactly. Take a stadimeter reading and then mark (with "pencil") the spot where the "X" plots out on the Nav map. If it could be done ... well, there goes RR's rationale for keeping "map updates" on. (Well, half the rationale, anyway. There's still no "realistic" method of plotting a radar contact ... without also plotting visual contacts.)

Reporting for duty sir! I'm partial to the fleets. I make no mystery of that. I will buy SH5. It looks interesting and should be a good change of water color when I need it.

Something is in the works regarding that for radar contacts.

Thanks for putting that up Ducimus.

There's a brilliant photo at 3:02 in that video. Anyone point me the savable original? Quite fancy it for a desktop.

Yesterday I reinstalled SH4 on my computer (only sub sim I have installed). I've come to the conclusion that I prefer only SH4. I've got nothing against U-Boats, but I strongly prefer the USN. For me, it is the Silent Service all the way! After using the Fleet Boat and then using a U-Boat, I REALLY missed my Fleet Boat! I loved Silent Service on the NES back in the day and SH4 has reminded me of that ever since it came out. Every time I start SH4, I swear I can hear the SS theme song playing.

I think this is why i keep plugging away at modding Sh4. Trying to make the most out of it, because fleetboat sims don't come around very often.

edit: as that video goes, i wonder what the guy used as a background song. I really like it.

Which one, the sub surfacing labelled P3, or the crew with shells for the deck gun?
