That's it. "Sword of the ocean". VERY fitting. My initial reaction to that title was o.O. Then it quickly went to "brilliant"

I think this gives the ship a little more respect than what you've got sledgehammer. The boat probably needs to be remade from scratch if it wants to look anything like the one from the movie.

Is this project on hold for the other boats? I'm just wondering seeing how it has dropped far down on the forum.

I'm actually more of a texturer than a modeler, so if you want, send me a layout of the texture, how the faces are arranged on it, and I can give you a decently good looking nautilus

EDIT: the light blue bits on the pilothouse are also green.
put a bunch of rivets and stuff on it....it's an 1800's ship remember! no welds here!

It's not on hold, just moving slow. I've been trying to get the side windows to glow when the sub is submerged but no luck yet. When slegehammer has the texture done I'll be able to add in the effects, like the bubbles when it's submerged.

It looks pretty close to me.

The sub will have plenty of rivets when it's done don't worry.

That model looks like an absolute beauty. OH MY GOD, I want. Don't know what I would do at it other than bask in its glory.

Shucks it is no longer available, at least at the Disney store. I do know there is a company that makes absolutely gorgeous reproductions of this model. Wheel house, and Gallery all very nicely detailed.

Oh, and here is an absolutely insane kit that is special order. You actually install every rivet on hull plates mounted on an actual skeleton of ribs and stringers. Perhaps it is good I am poor, I'd be unwisely spending a wad O cash.

Well, since the nautilus was designed to take out WOODEN ships, Steel targets would cause a little difficulty, so multiple rammings may be in order, especially with RFB

I already edited the Hitpoints to go off the charts, but with enough that you cant go about and do it forever, you know

Oh it has got to be ramming attack only. At those speeds it would be such a fast moving target to do multiple passes, and take out rudders, propellers and putting sizable holes in a target would be quite easy. Leaving a slowly sinking and doomed vessel.

I just realized, such an attack is probably the most Humane way of taking out a ship. It ravages the target, and scares the hell out of the crew. But most if not all crew members would be able to abandon ship before it sunk. No explosions, just mighty wallops.

Too bad such a boat could not actually be made. Tonnage, with minimal loss of life and limb and looking like a creature from hell while doing it

You could separate the windows from the main mesh, and import this object twice in your .dat file.
The first one ("surface_windows") will use the normal glass texture and will have a "visible_underwater=false" controller, so it's only visible on the surface.
The second one "glow_windows" can use the same method as used in SH3 for neutral lit ships + a "visible_underwater=true" controller.
That's what I've got going right now. Two sets of windows one for above water and one for below.
