I have all the DVD movies Alien to the last Alien Vs Predator Aliens vs Predator, never played the computer games I hope there just as good as the movie ones. The last movie however Aliens vs Predator - Requiem was a turkey shoot. If they plan to continue I hope they get Sigourney Weaver back into the next one.

IF havn't already checkout the Single & Multiplayer videos on Youtube Son is hounding me to get this when its out. Of course im going to get it!

On one of the videos they mention the Marines campaign is based on the 2nd aliens movie or "Aliens" and some of the actors from Aliens are doing the voice overs.

I hope they put in the scene where the Marine hutchinson freaks out after the heli goes down . Might of got the name wrong but who remebers that part when the marine starts freaking out etc.,

If they are basing it to Aliens, then hell yeah there's going to be Hudson and a "GAME OVER, MAN!! IT'S GAME OVER!!" scene! There has to be.

You poor Aussies, another game in the banning. Of course all your classification does is encourage piracy. How do you keep a keen AvP fanboy away from torrents?

Aliens vs. Predator banned in Australia
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6241970...result;title;0
Quote:
[UPDATE] Sega and Rebellion's xenomorph-versus-hunter-versus-marines reboot refused classification down under; censor cites explicit violence.

In the '80s-era action film Predator, Austrian beefcake and now California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger famously quipped, "If it bleeds, we can kill it." It seems Australia's Classification Board didn't like the amount of bleeding present in Sega and Rebellion's upcoming Aliens vs. Predator reboot for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, effectively banning the game down under by refusing it classification.

The latest banning comes in the same week that the massively multiplayer online game CrimeCraft was refused classification for showing positive effects from in-game drug use. In Aliens vs. Predator's case, however, it seems violence was the key offender, with a Classification Board spokesperson confirming to GameSpot AU that the game's bloody content was to blame.

Sega Australia has confirmed the banning and has not ruled out appealing the decision. "SEGA Australia can today confirm that the initial submission of Aliens vs Predator has been refused classification by the Classification Operations Board of Australia. We will continue to investigate all options available to us, including the possibility of appeal," the company said in a statement.

In previous game bans in Australia, some developers have opted to make changes to their games in order to pass the classification process. The most recent example is the toned-down version of Left 4 Dead 2. Valve was forced to release the revised edition down under when the original, unedited version was banned.

GameSpot AU has requested a full copy of the board's decision but had not received it at the time of publication.

[UPDATE] The Classification Board has now released its official ruling to GameSpot AU, and Aliens vs. Predator's high-impact violence was indeed a motivating factor for the ban.

"The game contains first-person perspective, close-up depictions of human characters being subjected to various types of violence, including explicit decapitation and dismemberment as well as locational damage such as stabbing through the chest, mouth, throat, or eyes," the board report stated.

"Characters can be stabbed with a Predator's wrist blade or an Alien's tail in depictions reminiscent of impalement. The Predator collects 'trophies' by explicitly ripping off human heads, their spinal columns dangling from severed necks. Heads can be twisted completely around in order to break a character's neck. Eyes can be stabbed through or gouged, leaving empty, bloodied eye sockets.

"It is noted that a player is able to combine manoeuvres together in quick succession, which further increases impact; for example, a Predator can stab a character through both eyes with its wrist blade and rip off their head, with spinal column still attached. Extensive post-mortem damage, including decapitation and dismemberment, is also possible."

@kiwi_2005
Because of 1 friggen nutjob state attorney general we aren't going to get the new AVP , this 1 pillock wont agree to a R18+ catergory for games,(he doesn't like games like AVP and doesn't want to see them sold at all), there needs to be unanimous agreement between all the states for the censorship laws to be changed to include R18+ - What's stupid about this is all the other AG's agree to the change but they can't change it because he wont budge

Aliens Vs. Predator Multiplayer Preview: Switching Bodies, Hunting

I should mention Rebellion developed a recently released title, Rogue Warrior. From what I understand it's a horribly buggy pos. Not saying it's the same for AVP, but keep it in mind all the same.

Is that Fiorina 161 map (that flamethrower pic)? It better be.

It does sound encouraging that someone new to the series felt the same about the MP as I did and do about AvP2. Constant fear and panic, waiting for the enemy to strike. Hopefully they'll deliver.

I tried a mission as a marine a few times: walking down a dark corridor, and suddenly there's a blip on the motion sensor. I freeze in my tracks and peer into the darkness... nothing. I look at my sensor again, and I see 2 blips light up. "Where the hell are they?!". Another glance, now there's 4. "Oh crap...". A shadow moves across the ceiling, coming straight at me. I raise my weapon and start blasting, a second later I'm dead.

Pretty hair-raising experience, too bad I didn't have a PC of my own to play on at the time.

The Aussies got lucky: Aliens vs Predator "Unbanned" In Australia
Quote:
Sega Australia's general manager, Darren Macbeth, tells Kotaku "It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our appeal. We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever. This is a big win for Australian gamers. We applaud the Classification Review Board on making a decision that clearly considers the context of the game, and is in line with the modern expectations of reasonable Australians".
I am glad the CRB came to it's senses.

You've should seen me and Dowly playing as marines against 1 predator played by pennelope grey.

the marine radar really made you jumpy because she played as a real predator (instead of the gun&run you saw in public servers) so most of the time the radar barely picked up anything but when it did we just fired in its general dirrection *blip!* AAAAAAAAAAAAAH + (insert random gun&explosion sounds here) mostly to confirm our wasted ammo was in vain she pressed the button to perform a predator taunt and shortly after either my head or dowly head was cut clean off and the cowards we where the survivor if he had the chance just ran away

good times

Hehe, speaking of our games, just watched the deathmatch vid with Mikey's commentary 30min ago.

Good times indeed. Sadly they never made the SP coop mod to work properly.
