IIRC, in WW2 subs, boat time was at the skipper's option. I believe O'Kane talks about this. Most kept base time. Some used Zulu. And a few used local zone time. Changing time by zone has the disadvantage that it impacts the watch-keeping schedule. Since every patrol report I've seen uses base time, I guess the boats that didn't would translate all log times back to base time when they wrote their reports.
AFAIK, there is no mod that allows you to adjust the sub's clock. All subs operate on base time. It's not hard to adjust to. After a short time on station, you quickly learn the times of local sunrise and sunset. And these change with season and latitude anyway. Hey, get used to it! It's the Navy way! ![]() |

Doing trans-ocean deliveries, I insist on keeping the clock set at our TZ of departure. Over the course of the transit, for the bums who don't do two dogs, it makes the mid-watch almost bearable. Almost.

I hate to think about the 3x6 schedule which is standard on nuke boats. Only the young are that pliable!
