I apologise for this

Its ok, I'm uploading now. For some strange reason File Front dropped my mod If all goes well it should be up again in about 2 hrs. I apologise for this...... BDU will not be pleased with this setback to other U-Boat captains trying to have the crews look "Elite"

Ven.
If a file has not been accessed for 14 days they are automatically archived for deletion. You should receive an automated warning via email which allows you 7 days grace to respond.
Rather than take the chance I would suggest you visit your site (you must manually log in....do not rely on the 'remember my password' facility) once a week to keep a check on things.
Better still, use one of the myriad of other storage sites such as MegaUpload then you have total control over who receives what ie: people can't access your account like they can at FF which means you decide what file links you want to make publicly available.

Lot of Poles up in Scotland.
Why shouldn't the streets of Poland be safe... as long as they have good Police Officers like Jimbuna to patrol them... they should be safe.

I guess this sort of thing is lost on people like STEED, who has a go at the Chief every chance he gets. (Has been ongoing for ages now) A slap here, a poke there. Total disrespect if you ask me.

...and Jimbuna keeps his cool through it all.

It is obnoxious to watch... and I'm tired of remaining silent.

Lay off the Chief, STEED!

This isn't about hosting files... It is about your long-standing rivalry and whatever beef you've developed with Jimbuna. The skin he hosted remained unaltered and contained whatever credits you wrote into the files...

Furthermore, I'm also willing to bet a hard-earned dollar that the files in question happened to find their way to Jimbuna's FileFront site as a part of his helping an SH3 user... which he is known for doing QUITE unselfishly... to a degree that few do. Subsim is lucky to have him.

Maybe we should all be petty and demand that you remove any links or posts to GWX material from your forum in retailiation? We owe people like Neal Stevens and Subsim... not you. It was against my "first reaction" and better judgement to grant you permission to host our links anyway... as having them linked elsewhere might/could somehow take away from Subsim.

No file was altered, miscredited, stolen, or intended to be a base for other modifications.

Grow up.

@STEED

I received your PM this morning and quite frankly it puzzled me. It is not my intention to quote from it as I consider PM's to be private, however I will respond to it's contents in the broader sense.
You sir in my considered opinion chose to post comments on this forum knowing full well they would be read by all and sundry. Comments which I could only perceive to be derogitory and potentially humiliating towards myself.
You claim you may have been "misquoted a bit"....prey tell, which comments are those ?
This one ? "You have my permission as of today, by all rights I could have given you six of the best" :hmm:
Or this one ? "I will allow you to carry on hosting it, but could have asked first" :hmm:
Or maybe this one ? "Anyway as I said, I am letting Jim off the hook" :hmm:

I will not be stigmatised, associated or labelled alongside those who are already suspected of stealing other modders work (you've actually brought quite a few wry grins from those within the GWX crew)

I'm not going to repeat comments and opinions about the ethics of ownership and sharing in this community....this has already been covered in posts 15,16 and 39. I would respectfully suggest you read them carefully.
IMO my track record for helping people and sharing files in this community is as good as most.

I have as of yesterday taken your sub skin off my FF account and HD....I sincerely hope you will be pleased to know that 63 people personally benefitted from it's prior availability....something I thought this community built it's foundation stones on.

You make reference to the fact that people have PM'd you......well let me explain....I got out of bed this morning and my PM box was full. A fair number of those PM's voicing concern at the contents of this thread. I am eternally grateful to those and am absolutely overjoyed that each and everyone (yes, you all got a response) have respected my wishes and not gotten involved by posting on this thread. Sadly, the resultant consequence of a full PM box meant that I missed some important messages regarding the development of GWX.

You further went on to state that some of your comments may have sounded 'hard' to me....well yes they bloody well did!!

I am no angel...I am well equipped to deal with the challenges life often brings to my table both in and out of work, (although it has been often said that a person in my position is never off duty)....perhaps that is true but I have always strived to maintain a differential between work and play.

You further state you have not visited this thread since your last post and therefore consider the matter closed..........Really ? :hmm:

You chose to publicly air the matter so I reserve the right to respond in public. Do not pull a pistol on somebody and act suprised or cry foul play if you suddenly realise they are firearms trained and pull out an MP5.

I'll say this....because of your comments on this thread, you have come within an inch of having permission to post links to GWX on your Subsimulations forum withdrawn in public. What poetic justice would that be?

If I felt I had offended you I would be the first to apologise.....and if that is the case then please accept my unreserved apoligies........but do not do me the disservice of what I consider to be nothing less than an attempt at public humiliation, then attempt to right what I and others consider to be your wrongdoing yourself via a PM.

After not playing SH3 for about a year and then comming back to get back into the war with the rest of you , I found several new and exciting mods made since then ... GREAT JOB to all of you

SO far it has taken me almost 2 weeks to find certain mods with links that actually works so I could download them . I found one thread that listed what seemed to be a hundred add on mods but only about 5 links on the whole page actually even worked , so to say the least i was dissappointed I was not able to download the ones I wanted .

I appreiciate anyone who takes the time and effort to upload their copy of someones mod for us who are seeking it . Even without their " permission" I would think a mod maker would feel very honored to see their work sought after for other peoples enjoyment to use in the best sub sim ever made so far . I just downloaded this crew uniform mod ( pics look great ) but no where ( not even read me text ) does it say who made it . It might not be that important to alot of folks but I like to know who the mod maker is so I can give credit to who deserves it , plus also gives me an incitive to seek more of that persons work .

I had a bookmark where mod makers would upload their work and it listed just about every mod you gifted folks made . Sort of a one stop shopping spree instead of having to travle thousands of virtual miles to find a few mods to download . Kinda miss that site more than I could mention . Anyways , I seem to be seaching for certain mods more than even playing the game ... So far in the last 2 weeks I have only done one patrol ... my guys are probably pretty drunk by now .....
