My bad totally! I meant to check this out but got RL stuff in the way and then the thread slipped down... and there you have it. Will look in to it TODAY!...but after lunch :p

EDIT! just had to start a new career here, due to reinstalls and what have you. i will report ASAP when I get some medals to show.

I guess i could try that Pearl trick, but as i said I do get the same medals in the box as on the screen, only thing there is the medal I get is a bit strange as its the The Navy Distinguished Service Medal, should not really get that for banging up my boat. But that has nothing to do with the mod as that's what the game gives me.

Anyhow, I will check back as soon as i get something.

Ok, finally made it back after my 1st patrol (after a clean install etc) and behold

And this is what I get in my medal box

so it all ads up. Now I am not sure why it doesn't for you LukeFF :hmm:
I checked my menu.ini and it has this
Quote:
5150=Medals
5151=Navy Distinguished Service Medal
5152=Purple Heart
5153=Silver Star
5154=Medal of Honor
5155=Bronze Star
5156=Navy Cross
I can't think of anything really that would cause the wrong medals to show up in the medal box. Here every thing stacks up as it should. I could of course report back after my 2nd patrol and see if something gets mixed up and what have you. But so far all seems ok.

Hmm, that is really odd. Can you double-check and make sure the files you've uploaded are the most current ones? Also, with the menu.ini like you have it, do the correct medal names show up for the crewmen?

This is what I'm using:

Quote:
5151=Purple Heart
5152=Bronze Star Medal
5153=Silver Star
5154=Navy Distinguished Service Medal
5155=Navy Cross
5156=Medal of Honor

I think the culprit is in the Menu.ini
Mine
Quote:
5151=Navy Distinguished Service Medal
5152=Purple Heart
5153=Silver Star
5154=Medal of Honor
5155=Bronze Star
5156=Navy Cross
Yours
Quote:
5151=Purple Heart
5152=Bronze Star Medal
5153=Silver Star
5154=Navy Distinguished Service Medal
5155=Navy Cross
5156=Medal of Honor
Try to swap around to what I am having and do a test.

This is from my 1st post in this thread, as to the setting is the "Menu.ini" for it to work with the "Stock" medals.

Quote:
5151=Navy Distinguished Service Medal
5152=Purple Heart
5153=Silver Star
5154=Medal of Honor
5155=Bronze Star
5156=Navy Cross
That is exactly same as to what I am using.

Wierd, wierd, wierd...

I changed the menu.ini text around to match yours, and this is what I get after doing the ol' "run the boat up on the shore and destroy it" test:

Version 1.1 of your mod installed and enabled. WTH is going on here?

That's what I got to doing the ramming exercise. I bet ya...Unplug the mod and try that again, ramming I mean, and see if you dont get the equivalent to the NDSM
...would be the "Submarine service medal" i guess. Then we know its not the mod. Because that's what the game would give you...stock that is!

Off to bed here, but weekend is looming up
If you find something conclusive please post.

Cheers!

CC, I sent you a PM about this a day or two ago, so please check your Inbox.

In addition to that, I think there still are some parameters that are messed up. I was awarded the Purple Heart after my last patrol (correct graphics, text, etc.), which was really strange because my boat didn't take any damage during the patrol, yet I sank about 7,000 tons of shipping. Sure enough, the CareerTrack file shows the following:

Quote:
PlayerCurrentMedals=NULL,Bronze Star
Quote:
[CareerTrack 1.CareerStatusSave 14]
ID=ID
Reason=CSS_Award
NameDisplayable=MT_BronzeStar
CurrentDate=1941-12-10 08:00:00
AwardReceived=MT_BronzeStar
So far that tells us the following, then:

-The game is showing and awarding the Navy DSM when it should be showing the Purple Heart (see above post).
-The game is showing and awarding the Purple Heart when it should be showing the Bronze Star Medal.
-As far as I can tell, the Silver Star is being awarded correctly.

BBBBump

Happened to me again on my last patrol. Returned to port, got awarded the "Purple Heart" a second time, and then I checked the save game file. Yep, sure enough, a second Bronze Star Medal was in the list.

I believe it does. I've got a version running on 1.4, and I haven't seen any issues with it. Maybe someone who knows more about the details could say whether or not it's fine, or if I just haven;t noticed how badly it's screwed up my game.

Looks like it replaces some textures. Textures are not really known to cause headaches. If it is working let me know and I will add to the 1.4 compatiblity thread

It "works," but 1.4 doesn't like it. See this thread:

sorry fred forgot all about that ,promised to look at it for you, been busy at home, it works if you use this one

http://rapidshare.com/files/75673373...eta_Revised.7z

all it is is the interior part of the mod removed and the system management dds altered. you have to edit your menu exactly as the instructions say ie :

change the following

From this

5150=Medals
5151=Submarine service medal
5152=Wounded medal
5153=Patrol star
5154=Medal of valor
5155=Campaign star
5156=Victory cross

To this

5150=Medals
5151=Navy Distinguished Service Medal
5152=Purple Heart
5153=Silver Star
5154=Medal of Honor
5155=Bronze Star
5156=Navy Cross

weve gone back 2 patches to the old medal order, thats why most of the medal mods are throwing a fit, surprised no one looked at the badges and crew management dds before this & never noticed it tbh. plus as the office has changed any interior like on this mod had to be removed.

should work ok like it is in the link.
