what can I say, flush with cash, but no class..

harrrrrr...

Ice ... more ICE! Since I think it's gonna be one long hot summer in California ...

Oh, on the depth-charge thing, be careful what you wish for. The '71 Sylmar 'depth-charge' event was bad enough ...

I am just finishing up one or two things in my command room here before I set out and my question is, besides a bunch of sub sandwiches and ice cream, what other tasty meals do you recommend for a long voyage?
Suggestion, use a Salamander kerosene heater to get the diesel smell going and then cook up a batch of Sauerbraten.....

On the Tusk one time, during some particularly heavy seas, on track for Bermuda, across the stormy Gulf Stream, on the surface, most of the crew was turning green, I was on the helm, turning green myself, the mess cook decides to cook up a nice batch of Sauerbraten. I'm telling ya, nothing can mask the smell of diesel like Sauerbraten can....
Soon after, the skipper ordered a dive, he was turning green as well, and we continued on track for Club Bermadoo...
That is too weird! I got myself a sauerbraten recipe about a week ago.:rotfl: Haven't attempted to make it yet however...

I don't know Clayman, it seems like we have gone a long time without an earthquake and were about due. The last "big" one on the central coast was the one in Dec 2003 and it was a 6.5. I remember that I was happily sleeping away when things started shaking. It was a pretty strong one.

Boy, do I hear you. The Sylmar quake threw us all on our asses. And what lesson did I learn from this ... I work right on top of the San Andreas out by Palm Springs!

On the other hand maybe it's time to talk the wife into a big generator ... you know ... to stay on patrol and all. :rotfl:

About time! It took this long to get a scotch recommendation! I expected this to be in the first 5. I get a nice 3-finger glass of blended scotch with just a dash of water and and hit the seas.

Yes tis' blended and doesn't give its age, but I'm young and with child. The 14yr Scapa is for special occasions. Maybe when I complete a full campaign!
