Yes indeed!
Bullethead, have you folks considered expanding on the magazine explosion by adding some different particle effects? I know theres a limit to which can be done with the current engine and maintaining effective FPS, but perhaps something akin to what was seen in the "Dogfights!" episode with the destruction of the Hood? The only reason why I say this is because as it stands its painfully obvious when a ship has blown up, but it doesnt have the same..violent effect, does that make any sense? |

Ther are 900+ ships in the Jutland Data base. Each and every one would have to have a complete exploding model mapped along with all the additional particles. |

Aw, man, all those coal-burners are polluting the atmosphere. You guys should be ashamed!
Great effect. You can never have too much smoke.

Smoke
We cant wait until the graphic cards evolve enough so that the average card deployed to the public will be able to handle loads of smoke without having to use 40% of the render pipeline to do it!

Anyone care to take snapshots of the game's merchant shipping? (Yes, I know - I have a weird interest in cargo ships...)

Hello, im about to purchase - had a good time with the demo scenario.
I´d love to see some more screenshots and have some questions: 1. Is rain modeled visually in the game? Screenshots available?? 2. could someone please post screenshots with landmass / coastal line in sight? 3. is shore target bombardment possible - screenshots very welcome here too. 4. is it possible to expand the visible game log during battles to a more verbose version like smaller caliber hits, crew casualties, detailed system damage... 5. a screenshot with the worst seastate possible in game would be great too. thanks in advance! |
2. could someone please post screenshots with landmass / coastal line in sight?
There are some in that thread. However, be advised that our land graphics aren't spectacular. No Cliffs of Dover--everthing is rather low and rounded, with very little detail. There are clusters of buildings for the towns, though, and all 400-odd lighthouses in the campaign area are faithfully represented in their correct positions. Quote:

thanks for your long and kindful reply, Bullethead.
I´ll buy the game this evening. Maybe it will be even possible for you to add some of the features i've asked about later... Beautiful pictures from the game other forum you mentioned! The one above is from the user @Kotori87 from the gamesquad forum, hope it's not a problem posting it here. The games log output on the picture here above seems more than i get from the game - strange, i'll have a look again. And hey - the shoreline looks not that bad. At least it's there |
