I am having a problem with map contacts with gwx3.

I aint got none!!

I recently dusted off my copy of SH3 and decided to upgrade to GWX3 (it has been a while since I played SH3

Installations seemed to go ok

SH3
GWX3
New version of SH3 commander
OLC gold

No other mods

I set my realism just like I used to do in GWX2

Limited Fuel deselected
No map contacts deselected
No event camera deselected
No Stabilize view deselected
No weapon officer assistance deselected

Everything else selected. Under my old configuration this gave me a realism rating of 80%. This time, however, it is up to 95%

The problem is when I play, I have no map updates. I have tired rebooting, selecting and deselecting No map contacts. No change.

When I select No map contacts the realism does not change. I don't remember this with my old version of GWX.

I tried using the world famous forum search function on this forum, but could not find any posts that addressed this

In my desperation, I even read the manuals!

Since I could not find anything that addresses this, I have come to the conclusion that I am doing something simple but wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

How do I get my map contacts back?

I uninstalled OLC Gold and the problem went away. So since it appears NOT to be a GWX issue, I will stop posting here and post my whiny little problem on the OLC forum

Sorry for the miss-post

Are based at Konigsberg?

"@GWX@^All Königsberg U-boats^1939/08/01|Welcome to GWX - Königsberg U-boats. You are to head West into the bay to carry out training. Along the way are 3 sets of targets. There is also a 2 ship convoy for simulated attacks. You may sink them all but be warned you will become the enemy of even your own country so press " ESC " to return to base when ordered to do so|GWX"

Apologies Barabanov. I had forgotten about exactly how the Konigsberg training scenario arrangement functions.

Kpt. Lehmann,

I could not recall where I had seen these instructions for the "shakedown" patrol out of Konigsberg so I just copied the radio message. I did a few searches here but came up empty...probably due to search terms I used.

No worries mate. You and/or the radio message were correct.

What's the file below for? I'm downloading from the "Beyond the Shadows website (currently getting the single file GWX install) and saw this one listed next to it. I see the MD5 is much smaller so is it some sort of hotfix or something?

GWX 3.0 Gold MD5

While I'm at it, what changes have been made to the sea traffic in the campaign. I checked the PDF but didn't see anything specific to this aspect of GWX although I'm sure something has been done.

Thanks

The MD5 file is a program that tests the file integrity of your GWX download or any other mods you may wish to add on later.

There is more harbour traffic with GWX. But if you PC can't handle it there is a Lite harbour mod that is included. In general there are much bigger convoys than in stock SH3, and i'm sure i'm leaving something's out, so I'll let the experts chime in.

The first Flotilla was based in Kiel:

It was the 2nd Flotilla that was initially based in Wilhelmshaven.

Yes,
But you need tools to screw around with the files.
