the dds were made using 2048 x 2048 resolution... maybe try and convert it all to 512 ?

but then do you also have to convert the ao maps to the same size like I did ?

Latest effort on a more detailed deck texture...it's difficult with the little res we are working. The problem is not the main texture; 2048x2048 is very respectable. The problem is that the parts of the texture are then used for the whole deck instead as for small squares of the deck (repeating the same texture). Thus, when covering a big surface, the detail gets lost.

Ideally, the whole deck should be textured with blocks of the same texture repeated f.e. each 4x4 metres (In game's size), so I could provide a deck texture that is both detailed and also follows the pattern seen in the photos of the real submarine.

BTW this last texture also tries to replicate that pattern:







What do you think of it?

Oh, and one more thing, where is the bridge (conning tower) floor texture located so I can revise it also?

I didn't have time to change the deck lately, when I tried to extrude it I forgot it had a wood texture on the sides too then... will take more work.

update :

I didn't get much time to myself lately so I couldn't yet fix the torpedo doors animation, other than that and the new texture, to me it's done.

but I will do the doors, unless SH427 can fix the animation for me

a hint from Skwasjer : place the door with 0,0,0 on the point where it should rotate, then set all animations to 0,0,0 and that should be that.

well...

I took a break from the Narwhal, but I'll finish it I promise !

I still need those new textures to replace mine, and I need to better the torpedo doors models, then Skwasj helps me with the animation, then release (for all concerned )
