you guys crack me up...
corn

Thomsen, is there going to be any fix for the flat sun issue? (no halo, just a little yellow dinner plate in the sky)

as much as i enjoy the effects that Ctrl+Shift+PgUp gives, i remember what GWX did for me
(i have an ATI card, and i finally got a sun halo in sh4, but then lost it in sh3 )

thanks for these wonderful mods!

I have normal sun halo. There were only two or three people complaining here about the sun halo, while all the others have normal sun halo with this mod.

The OLC's flat sun fix was already merged in his last OLCE2, so if you're using the mods as intended (OLCE2 last version first, my mod on top of it) you should be getting the sun halo.

Just weird.. did you try messing around with AA and AF? Some say that AA above 4x and you won't have sun halo.

Show us here with a screenshot your mods configuration please.

For sun halo I must enable Flat_Sun_fix for OLCU over OLCE2. Without it I have golf ball instead of sun. I have ATI X1950Pro video card and WinXP SP2, AAx2 and AF x16.

Maby But is does boost my performance in entarnal view and at sea (over 58 fps.) The old SH3 waves actualy slowed down my system.

I've installed this mod.....on top of GWX and OLCE....

Anyhow...It looks great.....Love the sheen on the water and the reflective properties.....Although I disagree with the idea that 2,000-10,000 ton ships look unrealistic bobbing around in big waves. 10,000 tons is small and should bob around in the ocean like a cork. I've seen it quite a lot.

Modern destroyers range in the 7,000 - 10,000 ton range. Those are "Small Boys"........

Anyhow.......

I got a game-busting problem since I've installed this mod........The weather changes much to rapidly and drastically.......

On average I experience 2-4 different types of weather sometimes in a day. Sunny and clear one hour, the next hor it's raining heavily, fog is heavy and the sea-state is high. 2 hours after that it's a drizzle and all clear........

Something funny going on.....

Anyone else experience this?

Yes, this mod really can make the weather change rapdly sometimes.

Why?

Remember those endless bad weather patrols? Raining and 15m/s winds for a month?

You'll never experience that in Thomsen's Water.

The weather is set to change more constantly, so the bad weather will end up in one or two days, instead of months.

The bad side of this is that sometimes the sunny day will also change quickly.

The weather changing very fast, two or three times a day, is very common in Curitiba, the city where I live. People usually go to work with t-shirts, a jacket on one hand and an umbrella on the other, even if it's sunny, cos here we just never know. Sometimes we expecience fast winds with rain and sun, very hot, all at the same time! It's nutz!

I don't know what is like in the middle of the freaking atlantic, but I do know that weather changing everyday is better than non stop rain and fog for months.

But maybe that's just me.

I hear you. it's been almost impossible fto find the right balance in this game. GWX has got it pretty close.......

I've been out on the oceans for extened periods of time....months.......Out there it really has more to do with systems, water currents and temperatures.......You usually have blocks of weeks of decent weather, then if you run into a system it may last a few days until you travel out of it.

The northern sub-arctic regions can get quite nasty though for weeks at a time.........lots of overcast, heavy seas, torrential rain.....but fog??? nope........

Heavy fog for days on end is highly unrealistic..........Heavy fogs out in the middle of the ocean just doesn't make sense.........Rapid changes through a day is really where and is most likely to occur in coastal vicinities........

With your mod though I've had scenarios where at one hour the sky is cloudless and the sun is out and water is flat......then an hour later under time compression it's raining cats & dogs and you can't see beyond 700 meters.

Great looking water though, nice work on the aesthetics.....I'd smooth out the weather a bit......

I saw the weather change from a nice sunny day to foggy and rainy.

I was sailing and had a feeling something was about to happen, I was on my bridge and saw this Giant grey wall comeing at me. (quite freaky if you ask me, kind of like das boot meets the fog. ) Then rain just started comeing down.:hmm:
