The Age Of The Galley, volume 2 of Conway's History Of The Ship series. Needless to say I bought a used copy.

Yet another ink cartridge. Man, I go through a lot of this stuff!

So do I Steve.
2-http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CSPUD6 2-http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CSPUEU 1-http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CSO794 I can get the 4 pack of color but, the different colors do not run out at the same time. Right now I have 3 small black cartridges, 1 small blue one, and a large black one as spares. I do quite a bit of photo printing for family members, and that eats the ink up in a hurry. ![]() ![]()

Yes that is what I'm doing Jim, like to keep a few spares on hand. The Canon MX870 works like a charm, so I'll just keep buying ink for it till it quits.

Don't recall what model the 'ink guzzling' Canon was at work but I replaced it recently with an Epson model (can't remember the exact one) and already it is outperforming its predecessor in the ink stakes. Mind you, Lexmark is even more outrageous...cheaper to buy a new printer than replace the inks ![]() |

Mine is an HP 2050. It was cheap enough that it would be cheaper to buy a new one than replace the ink, if not for those cheap refilled ones. Every time I install one the printer asks if I'm aware I'm using an unofficial replacement cartridge. So far I haven't had a problem with any of them.
I've gone through three black cartridges so far this year, but I have yet to replace the color cartidge. There is only one color cartridge, which is one of the reasons I stick with HP despite their annoying attempts to get me to spend twice as much to be 'official'. ![]()

On mine the red runs out first, followed by the yellow, then the blue, the large black tank, then the small black tank, which hardly ever runs out. I usually go through 2 or 3 reds per 1 small black one. That is why I have so many of those as spares, they come with the 4 color pack.

A friend of mine uses a lot of ink and has a bulk ink system connected to his printer and despite the initial outlay he swears it pays dividends in the medium to long term but that obviously will depend on the usage.

We definitely live in two different worlds. My "goblets for company" set consists of four glasses I bought at the local Dollar store. My personal all-round drinking glass is a 16-oz Santa mug my kids got me for Christmas 25 years ago.
So that's what it's called! When you showed the picture in your 'Home' thread I started trying to look up synonyms for "Drill chuck-to-bit converter attachment thingy". The only "Mandrel" I knew was a monster from an old Doctor Who episode.

![]() So I'll still drink out of the goofy glasses when I'm by myself and just want a drink by the computer or near where I'm working on something. I just won't have to pass them out to guests. Altho I've always thought it would be fun just to buy goofy mismatched novelty tableware and set the table with it for guests... but knowing me, finding the "perfect" goofy set of mismatched but still meaningful stuff would take longer than just buying a nice matching set that I really like. ![]() Edit: the last time I went to an antiques mall with my sister, someone had all these glasses for sale (probably another promotion from some gas station or restaurant) with Looney Tunes characters on them. If I could've found one each in the same size with, say, eight of my favorite characters, I totally would've bought them. But I couldn't put together a whole set in any size from what they had for sale. I was totally bummed. Quote:
