Almost makes you want to clear cut the whole place. At the start of winter I lost two trees from beside the house. I had the snow blower on the tractor so I had to move them with the Jeep instead. Shoved them to the back of the field and I will deal with them this spring. I will deal with the stumps when I put the loader back on.

I've got 3 big trees that concern me, one on the hill that leans towards my house....Got to get that sucker down and at least trim the big oaks way down.

Still have some winter left to endure. Although yesterday marked twelve hours of sunlight, thanks to daylight savings time. Now the days get progressively longer with the spring equinox scheduled for 16:47 hours UTC on March 20th.

It's still colder than a witch's heart and a well digger's heel around hyere.

Its' not all that warm up here either. 10 above right now, tomorrow we will get a little above freezing, but not much. Forecast got changed. Low; 3 high;31wind;ESE 10-20mph

Another ice storm here in NC today and worse tonight, mostly black ice and 100's of wrecks everywhere...

Re the leaning Oak, maybe you had better get a professional tree removal company to come in and take it down.
The rest of them for trimming I still say look at the firewood you will get.

Guy wanted $1200 to take it down, so it'll stand until my friend can cap it enough that it doesn't hit the house.. I have the house highly insured, one I'm fixing up. It's about 50% done and the side not finished is the kitchen area. If it lands there it shouldn't harm my wife, she's never in there.

Don't do it...many years ago I was charged £250 to rid me of a tree in the rear garden. I wanted the stump left standing about 4' from the ground to act as a base for a feeding table for the birds.

The guy and his helper came and chainsawed the tree branches off. putting them into his wagon bit by bit and leaving the main section of the trunk lying on the lawn saying he'd be back at the weekend to collect it, he wanted it to make garden furniture out of.

Muggins (me) paid him and the twunt never returned!!!
