Because part of their criminal MO is to wear masks to hide their identity, which helps against covid too.

Leaky lockdowns fuelled the coronavirus in the US, says the country's top expert in infectious diseases.

Dr Anthony Fauci tells the BBC the US risks an even greater outbreak if spikes are not controlled.

President Donald Trump changes tack and says he would wear a mask "in a tight situation"

In the UK, around 75 countries are expected to be exempt from travel quarantine rules.

Plans for all students in England to return to school in September will be announced later.

New Zealand's health minister resigns after a series of quarantine breaches by travellers.

Globally there are 10.6 million confirmed coronavirus cases and more than 515,500 deaths.

Companies will be asked to stockpile 10 weeks’ worth of masks in the event of a second wave, France’s secretary of state for economy and finance said. "We're preparing for the start of the school year and there is a risk of re-circulation of the virus," Agnès Pannier-Runacher said.

Serbia has reimposed and tightened lockdown restrictions in certain parts of the country as infections rise once more. The country is currently on a list of EU "safe travel" nations, although Austria has issued a travel warning for the Balkan nation.

People have been caught on camera crossing the border from Sweden into Norway, which has imposed restrictions on its Nordic neighbour. Norway’s Public Roads Administration has since deleted the images, Norwegian public broadcaster NRK reports.

And Denmark's football cup final between Aalborg BK and Sønderjyske had to be halted after Aalborg fans refused to socially distance in the stands. Police eventually had to expel a group of supporters, and play resumed after a 15-minute delay - with Sønderjyske winning 2-0

Default China-USA: Spielball WHO

German-French TV channel ARTE aired this program recently, on the infamous role of the WHO in this pandemic crisis. It does not get off too well. I feel confirmed in my mistrust, scepticism and even disdain for this organisation.

The first is the channel's "mediathek". Spoken language and subtitles can be switched between German and French.

And this I just found at youtube, the premiere of the movie is in 4 hours from the time of typing this on. Maybe they offer English subtitles or sound, remains to be seen.

Face masks could be good for the economy...?...

Goldman Sachs has done the math and a national mask mandate to halt the spread of coronavirus would have a big impact on the U.S. economy --

Hope the new face mask order helps your state; from what we hear out here, things have been pretty hard regarding the spread of Covid-19 lately down there in the Lone Star...

Local governments here are starting to get really serious about enforcing face mask orders; prior to now, it has been pretty much an honor system where the LEOs haven't really had any ordinances to back any enforcement of mask orders; now, a couple of local cities are actually spelling out penalties for non-compliance by individuals (businesses were already facing enforcement via license restriction/revocation, fines, etc., for non-enforcement on their premises):

People arriving in England from dozens of nations will no longer need to quarantine from 10 July.

A full list of 'low risk' countries is set to be published on Friday but will include France, Spain and Germany.

PM Boris Johnson will urge the public to act responsibly ahead of England's lockdown being eased.

The governor of Texas has ordered face coverings to be worn in public as virus cases rocket.

With 53,000 new cases recorded on Thursday, the US set a new one-day record for new infections.

Globally there are 10.8m virus cases and there have been more than 520,000 deaths.

There has been a rise in the number of coronavirus cases in Austria, after relatively stable figures through most of June.
The total number of active cases in Austria is now around 787, compared to 470 before the weekend.

Quarantine rules in England are being abolished for travel from dozens of countries - including France, Spain, Italy and Germany. That means people arriving from these countries, including UK travellers coming home, will not have to spend 14 days in isolation.

But the other UK nations have not yet decided whether to relax their rules.

Travellers from England may also still face restrictions at their intended destinations.

Greece, a popular holiday destination with a low number of coronavirus deaths, says it will not accept direct UK flights until at least mid-July.

Austria requires Britons to self-isolate unless they have a recent medical certificate or test negative for coronavirus on arrival.

New Zealand has barred almost all foreign travellers from visiting, while those entering Australia require a special exemption visa and face a mandatory quarantine.

One US state seeing a surge in cases is Texas, where people have now been ordered to wear face coverings in public. Texas marked a record number of infections this week, with 8,000 new confirmed cases on Wednesday alone.

The Palestinian Authority is imposing a full five-day lockdown in the West Bank, starting from today, as cases of the virus continue to rise. Previous local restrictions in "red areas", including hard-hit cities Bethlehem and Hebron, failed to stop the spread of the virus.

South Korea has recorded its highest daily increase in cases in two weeks. In the past day the country reported 63 new infections, bringing the total to just under 13,000

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Tokyo have topped 100 for the second day in a row. The Japanese capital reported 124 cases today - the highest daily number since a national state of emergency was lifted in late May.

Melbourne is at a "critical stage" after an outbreak of the virus, despite Australia generally being a success story. Although the numbers are still below March's peak, most cases are now being spread locally instead of from people arriving from abroad.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un praised his country's handling of the virus as a "shining success". The country maintains that it has had zero cases, but most analysts say this is unlikely.

US virologist Dr. Fauci warns that it seems the virus has mutaed into a form that is even more infectous and produces higher loads of virus in infected cells/patients.

A German virologist expressed strong scepticism that next year there will be the one super vaccine, the one drug to cure it all. More likely it would be that it takes much longer for such a drug to develope, and that we probably will end up with a whole group of different vaccines with sometimes smaller, sometimes bigger differences in their effects. The virus most likely came to stay, he said. We need to learn to live with it.

Florida governor, a Trump man, said he rejects to shut down anything, and leaves the repsnsibility to nevertheless do so to lower levels of the hierarchy: districts and towns. Texan governor however, also a Trump man, has ruled that social distancing (with rules still quite lenient imo) and wearing masks now gets enforced. Texas hospitals are at their limits, some seem to be locked.

Hyper-individuality meets superstitious science scepticism meets religious mumbo-jumbo - and the result is what is going on with Covid-19 in the US. People risk their health and life and that of their families only to not follow the wrong party's message on wearing masks - really...? Something ticks very strange in the American way of thinking there. Uncomprehensable.

Even if that were true Dowly we aren't European sheep to be cowed into submission by a few CCTV cameras.
