OK thanks Bleiente - it is good to know that it is not my PC starting to die

Or is it just me?
No I don't.

But I've not loaded any other mods with FOTRS v1.3 except for the stuff I've been working on (which is a lot, but not causing what you've got).

Well, see if you don't have bit too much "Beachfront Ocean" sound ~inside~ your boat, while submerged. I'm talking about being on the deck with heavy seas kind of sound, but while you're at the chart table, 350 foot below the surface. I get it with the "fix" installed, after doing a Crash Dive and Time Compression, come back to the surface, and then have a radar contact. Next TC, and there's the ocean trying to wash me overboard while I'm in my wardroom, back under the waves. I did what CapnScurvy suggested above, and put the "stock" dat files he mentioned above back over the top of the FotRS Ultimate v0.3 Alpha files, and thus far, success in that regard. There are a few other anomolies though, in the Chart Room, where it "looks" smaller, and the camera angle has changed. Might just be a different boat. More testing is involved.

I did do the "R" key for radar depth, ended up with a "Deep Dive" audio and visual sequence, with the depth gauge showing we were going to 200 feet. However, with all the sounds on the boat, once you did an F11, you could see the boat's shears. Definitely need to "fix" that sound.

Do we all have this?...
Mine is fine, other than the strangeness of "The Museum", as far as the sounds go. Mine works in all interations I've used of SH4

I really thought that the sensors in SH4 were tied to the environment absolutely.
I had the impression that whilst the SH3 sensors were tied to whatever numbers were put into the environment, the SH4 SH4 sensors were a lot more fluid, and connected to what the environment actually looks like

That was why in - oh god I can't remember - I think it was TMO 1.6 or 1.7 we ended up with the ridiculous scenario where you would drop out of TC with a destroyer shooting it's 5 inch guns at you, and yet you would go to the bridge, look in it's direction, and see bugger all.

Or you would clearly see a ship but your watch crew would steadfastly refuse to see it

I remember this happening

I am absolutely prepared to be proved wrong CapnScurvy

What video card are you using, and what resolution are you running SH4 at max-peck? Any other mods? If you click on Museum, do you see the "Do you have a ticket?" prompt? Or does it crash right away?

Just tried fotrs 1.3 again...No free camera,no one at the helm in the conning tower or command room during and not at battle stations..The sounds of the jap ships that are sinking have no creaks and groans to be heard inside of the sub,and the crew keeps shouting when a torpedo hits at silent running or not...Websters no more shouting/free camera mods do not work...Will these items be corrected??

My museum also works correctly. Maybe you messed up with something the museum doesn't like. Do you have any other abnormal behavior in game?

Cheers,
Billy.

The camera and crew problems you describe here are not normal. The ship sinking sounds should be hearable from inside when you're close to the sinking ship. . Maybe you have a mod soup, a re-install of SH4 should eliminate those problems.

The crew shouting will be fixed, silent running or not. I have not tested these Webster's mods with FOTRS, so I'm not in the position to help you with these.

Regards,
Billy.

However, I am not sure whether there is actually an acute or even chronic problem exists ... it could be due to the enormous mass of ships ... somehow SH4 has a problem with that.
But actually I had only a CTD, a PC restart was not necessary.

I do not think that your PC is dying ...
Perhaps it is the resolution (myself have a GTX 760 at 1920x1080) and FORTS V2.0, the museum is also always crashed with me.

Or your game is corrupt by constantly activating and deactivating various modes via JSGME.

greetings

Default 460 Radio Contact Report Eliminator

I've uploaded this old mod of mine (my first in SH4) in the Plugin folder of our Secret Service drive.

It's modified to work with FOTRS Ultimate Edition v0.4 Alpha. It will be updated regularly with future FOTRS Ultimate versions.
JSGME ready, detailed readme included. Enjoy, if you dare that is!

WARNING!
This is a realism mod. Your patrol tonnage number may drop, depending on your decisions... and pure luck!

Cheers, Billy.

I'm running a R9 380 with Free Sync activated, resolution is 2560x1440. Don't think it's a problem with your resolution either.

The interiors will be changed when I post my stuff, including camera angles.

Yes! The free camera will work, and the helm station will be manned (either in the Command Room or the Conning Tower).

One issue with having the interior free camera is you will see all the flaws within the stock game (and any mod for that matter) that has not addressed mistakes left in the interior. That's what I've been doing, fixing these errors. For instance, with FOTRS Porpoise interior, take a look at the smaller gauges on the guage panel...in front of the planesmen. Those smaller gauges don't show correctly....there's no needle, or background (for that matter) that represent a true gauge. Their showing a "part" of the gauge image file....but nothing that looks like a gauge. Go ahead, take a close look at the gauge panel.....chances are you never noticed those flaws before. BUT, you will when you have a free camera!

This is also found in the stock game....so its not just a FOTRS thing. But, things like this will be corrected. Why have the ability to come within 5 inchs of a gauge and not have the thing look like a readable gauge?

I've got a test mission you've seen images of using FOTRS v1.3. (it's of the ships I posted when showing the difference between my Optical Corrections looking through the periscope). I've got one test with calm seas (zero wind), mid day noon, no clouds. The enemy merchants "docked" off just 1000 yards (exactly) from a surfaced, stationary Porpoise sub....5 to the port side, 3 to the starboard. I've got another test of the exact same set up, except its midnight. In both test's, I can sit still without being detected for hours. As soon as I start my engine for movement, I'm in the death screen with them opening up on me. I can submerge/surface (without engines) without being detected.....its when they hear the engines I'm toast. Doesn't sound to me like the environment plays a part in detection. I'll admit, night compared to day plays a part, so does fog. But, I'm not convinced that water clarity, or something like clouds make a difference.
