I've been trying to warn people of the dangers of air dropped creepers for ages but no-one would believe me!

The Feed the Beast mod pack might be a good idea to use once all the mods are
updated and the pack is released.

List of (possible) mods it'll include:

The FTB is in pretty close ties with the mod authors, so it's more or less guaranteed
to work if installed correctly.

I presume it is Industrialcraft 2 that is in the pack. And not the first edition. It seems everything is in it that we used to have, and more.

I do hope we can dispense with the block-ID and item-ID customizations in the sever config files. It would be great if they were standardized.

IC1 was replaced by IC2, so it would be IC2 in this pack.

I personally would be for this pack.

The FTB pack should be just download & install AFAIK, so unless we add more mods
there shouldn't be any need to fiddle around with the block-IDs.

And yes, that would be IC2.

What's the updating process like? Will they release regular updates or do we have to update every single mod?

That's a good question. I would think they update the whole pack once
there's enough updates for the invidual mods.

Direwolf20's saying the pack might be ready "early September", so guess we
find out soon enough.

EDIT: Actually, I think they are making a own launcher for it, which would be very handy.
I tried the Tekkit pack which also has it's own launcher and it automatically updates all the
necessary mods.

Is Direwolf behind the modpack or just advertising it?

A good choice, he does some fantastic stuff on mod packs. Definitely one to keep an eye on, although I wonder if it'll still fix our problem of player decay.

Myeah, dunno. At least there's a bit more to do now with Thaumcraft being
included (hunt down artifacts & research them to build new TC stuff).

And logistics pipes for me.

EDIT: Speaking of DW, this just turned up in my subs box; Mod Spotlight - ICBM:

I was just about to post that!
If we use the mod pack I am looking pretty forward to Thaumcraft and logistics pipes.
