- I've already tried this method and reached "the point of no return" - after loading the saved file mooving few meters forward - and CTD. If to move back or stay at place - nothing happened. My fate is to be a "fly dutch" that can't return homeport

If you are using MOD's like SteelVikings Interior, Stormy's SDBSM v1.3 you are running on the bleading edge limits of your available memory.
Those MOD's require lots of memory and and CPU/GPU think time.
when you approach Keil Port, the game attempts to load all the Bouy's, Building, Peir's etc. and runs out of environment space (RAM) faster then it can obtain vitual memory (swap to disk) and game crashes.
- Yes, I've several "heavy mods" including you mentioned above, plus "Harbour add. env.", "mtns", "OHII full". Strange that I didn't face the issue of absence of RAM when departure Kiel harbour, also no visible FPS fail was mentioned

There are still many Texture's that still need to be Optimized. These Texture's that are not Optimized really eat up free memory and most are preloaded and stay in memory.
There are tricks that can be used to reduce the size of these questionable textures by as much as 50% and still maintain the Hi-Resolution quality.
This does not sound very important but because SHV preloads texture's, it is most likely the biggest issue in SHV right now.

If you want to run Hi-End MOD's you may want to upgrade memory to 8 gig.
This is what I did and it made a MOJOR difference.
If You think that add. 4 gib should be really used by GPU in this game then to obtain it is a good idea (for lot's of other programs 4 GB is enough).

Thanks for the answer TheBeast! Post some notes in green

@ Trevally.
Started new Campaign the other day.
Just received Radio Message:
Code:
Date: xx/xx/1940 12:00 (date hidden to protect the spoiler)
From: Befehishaber der U-Boote
To: U-45

Return to nearest base to re-arm and make best speed to Norway for OPERATION WESERUBUNG
New orders will follow.
The problem here is that I have never been given mission for SOUTH WESTERN APPROACH and going to Norway will take me far away from that mission location.
If I complete OPERATION WESERUBUNG prior to completing SOUTH WESTERN APPROACH, Will I progress to next Campaign and not get the chance to complete SOUTH WESTERN APPROACH?

My current location is the SOUTH WESTERN APPROACH. I was here anticipating orders for SOUTH WESTERN APPROACH.

The easiest thing to try is to disable a few of those MOD's just to get into the bunker.
Once you are transfered to next Port, you can enable those MOD's again because I do not think any of the other ports have as much detail as Keil.

i want to do this cause the shere number of messages is overwelming. well it is for me.

i seem to get alot of ctd's from this mod, if i uninstall they go away. anyone else having same problem.
i ve got "radio messages v4" then "radio messages non-ui-for reaper7 ui 4.14". is this correct install. any one help.

No, I don't think 8 GB will solve your problems. You have to deactivate mtns. I have the same problem.

Hi FromHell

When TDW made the radio message mod, he added a section where anyone making the messages can set messages to 100% - even if user has set lower than this - so yes - all campaign messages will get to you unless you are on shore

If you have OHII v1.5 or higher - it has all the campaign messages in it so no need for radio message v4

If you use Reaper's Ui - you need to use TDWs radio message mod to get the campaign messages

Just disabled "mtns" and "mtns fix" - the game CTD while loading. Then enabled those mods again - CTD when loading every save. That means the end of career and all the achieved results. If MIkael is right and 8 Gb of RAM should not solve the problem - then using combination of OHII + Harbour addition+mtns is impossible by now. Just about to feel great disappointment

Yes, I'm not able to use combination of OHII + Harbour addition+mtn . Only a lot of CTD. I'm sorry. I have 8 Gb RAM.
