He gave a full picture of something we really can't know instead of just a part of a picture.
That's some confidence we don't have a clue

Guessing, some sort of wheel from a carriage from the colonies

It is not from the colonies, maybe Britain intended to make it one some day, but ..

The two gentlemen are, of course, english, though i do not know whether they wear military uniforms (possible, but could as well be some kind of museum's uniform..). I am not exactly sure where this scene takes place.
And it is not from a carriage, although it was intended to transport .. something.

Maybe i give it away with this, but has anyone watched the Indiana Jones mini series ? (hint, hint)

Yep, that is it !

The restored wheel is now in the Imperial War Museum Duxford, i think the photo was taken there.

The triplane was planned by Villehad Henrik Forssman and maybe Anthony Fokker, but it was not completed before the end of the war, though airframe and wings were. When the L59 Zeppelin had covered a journey until south of Karthoum and back, and thus proven the US coast could be reached by an airship, the "heavier-than-air" engineers did not want to stand back. The Zeppelin Staaken type R 'giant planes' had already the size of the Forssmann triplane, but not the range.
Wings and frame can be seen here, along with some more info.: https://ortus.rtu.lv/science/lv/publ.../7345/fulltext

The plane has a short appearance in the Indiana Jones mini series title "Attack of the hawkmen" ,
where it is instantly destroyed by a hydrogen gas explosion.

U Crank and Jim nailed it, but U Crank was first i think

Over to you
